No need to remove covers inside boot/trunk. Just remove two T50 trox bolts, and remove clips as you showed. BMW put two holes in the underside of bumper cover specifically for this purpose.
For Mtech 2 / ZHP rear bumpers you can't access those T50 bolts. There are holes, but if you look up inside you can't get to the T50 as part of the bumper obscures it.
Thanks for sharing this, It helped me in the removal of my E46 M3 bumper. Quick note for other M3 owners there are no poles poking out of the M3 bumper so when you start to remove it it will drop as soon as the bolts have cleared the body work so be ready especially if your doing it on your own ;)
dislikes help, they help keep videos from the youtube homepage clean by not showing information and topics that have already been learned or completed, Just like bumper videos, do we need a hundred suggestions AFTER we already did the job... No, So after you watch it DISLIKE it so you are not inundated with topics you may have already covered. To the uploader its nothing personal we just don't need suggestions on subjects we should have learned the first time. If uploaders made good videos, we would not need to continue research. However, I will continue to research this topic
Another great job. I have a 2001 E46 Convertible. It has the backup sensors that give an audible beep with their is something near where you're backing up towards. Make sure the wires are re-installed the same way they were taken off. While having some collision work performed, the shop didn't re-assemble correctly. Had to take it back and have them do it correctly.
Glad to hear. We tend to go into as much detail as we can so we are happy to hear that its appreciated. Be sure to subscribe to receive future DIY videos which can potentially save you lots of money in the long run.
Thanks for the video! I never came to the idea to look after those three screws inside. In all videos I found for the other e46 models the removal of the bumper was different...
Thanks for this. My 330ci convertible is a track day car only, so as its lowered it is hard to get a jack under it to quickly get the wheels off. I made a "quick release" bumper cover for the front, so I can quickly remove the cover and put a jack on the aluminium cross brace (with a long piece of wood that goes between the bumper struts/dampers) - it takes about 2 minutes to get the front off. I wanted to see if I could do the same with the rear, so your video really helped!! Thanks
All other videos show removing the bolts holding the impact shocks to the rear bumper carrier when removing the bumper. If the bolts are corroded like mine were your method could save time and difficulty. Thanks for the idea.

Hey bro I have the same car I was wondering if it's possible to just remove the lower black trim on the rear bumper I wanna take it out and paint match it to the bumper
Mine were t45 bolts. An absolute bitch to get at, and once loosened the design of the diffuser / bumper on mine ( different from this) didn't allow the bolts to be removed anyway. So this video shows the best method!
Hi great video but as lm planning to replace faulty parking sensors it would have been really great if you could show the back of the car with the bumper fully removed
i was thinking it will be helpful because I need to replace one of the parking sensors,so probably need to remove the bumper aswell, but yours doesn't have any PDC at all .How come? thought every standard bmw has parking sensors at the rear at least?
Hey hoping you could help me with a quick question - Do rear bumpers have any play like the ability to move up down / back forward? i.e. is this normal play from the shocks?
Gee thats a long tedios way of removing bumper ?? I just did mine on my e46 320ci coupe i removed one screw from outer edge of wheel liner both sides obviously, then removed 2 torx screws that are accessed through holes in bumper, (vertical ) and slid off, took less than 3 minutes,,
@@bimmermerchant Well maybe he would have to look into how to profit from it first... I have seen a few great videos on the topic. And only one like this.... You should make a video showing the right way! that'd be good. Here's a little sister doing it the right way. th-cam.com/video/2EMzMbZjnRk/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=DieAutoh%C3%A4ndlerin
how bad is it that i was pulling someone out with the rear tow hook and it pulled out the crash bumper on one side? i believe the strut came apart from seeing how you did it in this video. how could i fix that?
I hate those cheap ass fake plastic screws lmao...like you expect them to twist but you have to just force them out. I broke the handle of one and now the "screw" part that doesn't even function as a screw is lodged in my trunk. (Thankfully this was when I was trying to access the DVD port or whatever to install a bluetooth, nothing vital.)

Yeh, Har Har Har....try to turn those bolt after 15 years of no lube assembly at factory. They will be welded in there.
@@paulcrowe6586 Done it on a 2004 320d about a year ago. Had no issue then. Came out without heat or too much effort.
Tried this on mine and design did not allow the (t45 nlt 50) bolts to be removed. They have a few different models and this vid works with all of them
@@paulcrowe6586 LOL what? This is the dumbest shit I've read today.

Can't you just remove the bumper cover by using a T50 in the underside holes and then popping the clips in the wheel well off?
There are various ways to remove bumper, we showed our removal method. Fee free to explain your removal process.
@@bimmermerchant thanks I tried to undo the t50 bolts but they were seized so this video came in really handy

Don't need to remove inner wheel arch trim. You can see and access that 10mm top corner.
thanks for the input
Hi
If you can pull the bumper out to put a new sensor in , without removing rear bumper let me know
Cheers
Thanks for ur time.... well done...👍
Have you ever had to replace the Rear Lower Tail Panel (they rust) on this car?

@bimmermerchant Would I be able to use hot water and beat the panel if I have damaged mine a bit, after removing it?
is it the same steps on a touring ?
Got a 325xi 2001
Do you need to remove the bumper in order to replace the parking sensors bud?
