I converted a wood to metal also. I added a twist to it, I put a 4hp Toro engine on it and I can run on gas or electric. I dropped my speed through jackshafts, which makes switching from electric to gas really easy. It was perfect for jobsite work, I didn’t need to lug around a generator.
Good job! I would have hated to see that go to the dump. I also don't think I would be brave or patient enough to put all that cast iron on a hinge for horizontal sawing.
"If you can't make it perfect, make it adjustable"... words to live by for Makers.

There are a lot of better more finished and refined versions of this but your idea is EXACTLY what I’m looking to do. I love your style! Subbed!!!
I just found your channel a few days ago. Enjoying it immensly, but dude, you need to moisturize those hands! lol
Glad I saw you on hackaday. I had plans for this same thing but wasn't sure it'd work.
If you need more info, Tubelcain (mrpete222) has some great videos on converting a wood cutting bandsaw to metal.
Thanks for the support!
@@cranktowncity I'll definitely have to check that out. Thank you!

7:40 you're chasing zeros where they can't be found
What i just saw :)
The speed is too low, resulting in slow cutting speed
