About 22 minutes in he says just Jesus no plusses. Ok, but let's make this clear. Putting on Jesus and taking up His cross means taking on suffering and walking the walk. Easy believism won't cut it. We all have clay feet so to speak but don't embrace the flesh. Embrace Christ and you'll find putting off the flesh is a pleasure, more pleasurable than the flesh.

Thats not the context. Salvation by faith alone in Christ alone. Works are the evidence of the new birth not a requirement.

This is about the unnecessary Old covenant ceremonial rituals but that's not the equivalent to "created in Christ for good works" (and the emphasis here in Ephesians 2:10 isn't about pulling the neighbor's weeds or trash from ditches or anything like that. It's the work of faith, that is putting on Christ and walking the walk.). So this passage gets used by errant teachers claiming it's not necessary to obey the Spirit for salvation but that's not what's there. I like to listen to this Alabama church sometimes. I think their website has more than are availed here.

Derek Thomas teaches anything but easy believism. The new birth produces works after salvation by faith alone in Christ as the evidence of salvation.

While we who are truly saints of our Lord in America today still consider our good deeds towards others as evidence of repentance. Yet metanoeo ( a change of thinking is the metaphysical process that precedes all observable actions)
Without this process the soul remains under the wrath of God.ie condemned...and being nice...not offending others with the gospel.... Humanism.....a man centered gospel...another gospel...
