I love this video and the Tampere version - I trade off between the two...because, why not? Would love to see My Walden. For instrumentals, Last of the Wilds is wonderful. And soft Floor - Sleeping Sun 2016. Different sides of Nightwish - there are so many and all good.
It's a metaphor for life and death. Focus on the old sailor pulling his ship through the struggles of life, stumbling over the rocks (think "bearing his cross") with pain in his expression. Then note how his face changes from pain to the warm, yet melancholy smile at his finally completing his journey and experiencing the joy of unburdening his cross and letting it drift away to sea on its own and, simultaneously, the sadness at life being over.

Making the Islander video Reaction: th-cam.com/video/5ea6obAAUhc/w-d-xo.html I recently saw this making of video, and really enjoyed seeing the professional teams that Nightwish works with. They have lots of top notch documentary material online from their own video production teams. Btw, I think the band sitting around the fire has special meaning for Tuomas, because I understand the lore about how Nightwish came to exist is that Tuomas and some of the early members were sitting around a campfire and deciding to start the band. This was more recently reinforced by the Band's Summer Camp as part of recent album production where they spend much time around the campfire, along with watersports and playing lots of music.
@@HCH944The last 3 years (in my spare time) I have been driving and running around placing cat-traps trying to catch runaway pets. Last night I caught a tiny and skinny kitten and now it is in safe place in animal shelter. Winter is on its way and there are uncountably many homeles and abandoned lonely cats starving. Many mother cats with kittens. Lot of joy when finding one and tears and sorrow when being too late. Otherwise things are ok. I have many musician friends - we listen to music, drink wine, play chess and talk about politics or great books and science. What ever issue feels worth discussing or even debating. Very fruitful and mind opening.

And yeah...music....and of course the GODDESS.....I am hourly waiting for news...seems the princess takes her time.........🤣🤣🤣 And slowly I am becoming nervous......despite my wife always says that I am a cool one....🤣🤣🤣
The live version in Tampere!!! Marko alone on stage with his double neck (warwick) is wayyyyyy better😍 They have more folky songs. In this video you see Troy (on the rocks) he is the multi instrumentalist and has a great voice too. Troy is way more on stage (almost every song) since the album shutter before the beautiful. Btw the live version is with Floor at the back ground, it's BEAUTIFUL. Anette live is a disaster, I warn you guys.
Sorry for the not many likes guys. Anette is the least favorite singer. I understand they needed a singer fast, but she was just not nightwish, stuborn, walking away from stages, often sick during tours and did not want to tour because of her kids. While she started so called being excited in touring. That's how Floor needed to resque the tour in the USA and learning the whole setlist in the plane. You will mainly find studio versions with Anette, because live she sounds ....just not good. I put it mildly
