I know three Kpop vocalists who’s completely in control and always sounds like it. Doesn’t sing safe, but you never doubt that they’re gonna hit whatever they try to hit. That’s Young K, Kyuhyun and Jonghyun. There are other vocalists who might sound more “interesting” or keep you on the edge of your seat, but sometimes you just really want to appreciate the clear, total control perfection.

I am a 3 month old MyDay and I must agree with you that I was super intrigued when I realised that Young K’s voice was everywhere in Day6’s background vocals! Also, the way he effortlessly harmonizes with the other members (or sing the Ooos and ahhhs) when performing live got me crazy. He has a lot of patience, a good ear, and control over his voice indeed. He is a testament of someone who truly loves and appreciates good-sounding music! Love his entire lower, mid and high register...lol, basically his entire voice :) He got me interested to find out more about Day6, especially the bass lines that he plays in all their songs - they’re so tuneful and tasteful arghhh. Umu legit pointed out all of YoungK’s high caliber vocal prowess. I often wonder if he was born with it or if he got really good tutoring and practiced till his nose was bleeding. I think what really got me about his vocal was that he’s not a technical singer even though he’s technically perfect. He injects a lot of himself and his feeling into his singing. I am not saying he’s Freddie Mercury because there’s not another Freddie, however, when I listen to him, I am reminded of Freddie whenever he belted from mid to high range perfectly. I hope that YoungK will have a solo album one day. He’s the best foundation for Day6 (vocally and in his bass playing) but he deserves to be a solo singer. He can sing RnB, Jazz, rock, metal, musical theatre, and of course pop. There’s no genre that he can’t do.

I am beyond honored to have been able to witness Youngk's adlibs and vocals live last night on their Gravity tour concert. This is why they call him Day6's bias wrecker (that and his shark cheekbones and jawline)! The man's a legend!
i thought my favorite young k vocals was his smooth transitions from regular stomach voice to his dreamy falsettos but this proved me wrong i actually love ALL young k vocal moments 😭

I am a 3 month old MyDay and I must agree with you that I was super intrigued when I realised that Young K’s voice was everywhere in Day6’s background vocals! Also, the way he effortlessly harmonizes with the other members (or sing the Ooos and ahhhs) when performing live got me crazy. He has a lot of patience, a good ear, and control over his voice indeed. He is a testament of someone who truly loves and appreciates good-sounding music! Love his entire lower, mid and high register...lol, basically his entire voice :) He got me interested to find out more about Day6, especially the bass lines that he plays in all their songs - they’re so tuneful and tasteful arghhh. Thanks for this wonderful video!
He sings so smooth and does some adlibs that effortlessly perfect. And his voice always stable even tho he's not in a really good condition. He always killing it!

I dont know much about the technicals thanks to this vid I can already explain that one of the many reasons why I love young k’s voice is because of his timbre he sings verrrrryyyy clean ALL THE TIME. Not to mention his wide vocal range and versatility.

God you're so right and I agree with like everything. I liken YoungK to Freddie Mercury. That range, the strength, the versatility, the tone. Just. DAMN.

Umu legit pointed out all of YoungK’s high caliber vocal prowess. I often wonder if he was born with it or if he got really good tutoring and practiced till his nose was bleeding. I think what really got me about his vocal was that he’s not a technical singer even though he’s technically perfect. He injects a lot of himself and his feeling into his singing. I am not saying he’s Freddie Mercury because there’s not another Freddie, however, when I listen to him, I am reminded of Freddie whenever he belted from mid to high range perfectly.
I hope that YoungK will have a solo album one day. He’s the best foundation for Day6 (vocally and in his bass playing) but he deserves to be a solo singer. He can sing RnB, Jazz, rock, metal, musical theatre, and of course pop. There’s no genre that he can’t do.
