He’s a fairytale prince! Handsome, convivial, kind, intelligent; truly a fairytale prince.
Back in 2000 I was at one of the Olympics afterparties and Frederick was also there- right across the room from me. It wasnt until much later that we learned he met Mary just a few days after that party...and at a pub that me and my coworkers used to always go to after work.
She is absolutely beautiful- abundant blessings to them both. Xx

One way of looking at Frederik and Mary: Frederik somehow avoided the potential problems of European Royal interbreeding and is actually a rather wholesome specimen - and had the fortune of bringing some new blood (genes) into the family tree. Mary of Tasmania is a fabulous addition to this ancient mix. Mary even took to speaking Danish so well that rather early on she was speaking her native Aussie English with a subtle Danish accent! By the way, written Danish should not be hard to master for an English speaker, it is the pronunciation that tends to be difficult.
What I find most endearing is the obvious regard and mutual affection they have always had for each other.
I noticed she has a bit of a danish accent too ! She’s very bright. Great comment.

@@yaseminozen1998 For those of us, who have read hundreds of history books, it is no secret, that "Royalty" tended to have too much inter breeding in their family trees!! The very reason Margrethe became Queen of Denmark in the first place was a marriage between close cousins! Back when Margrethe was born (1940) only men could become Reigning Monarch. Since the King "only" had daughters the throne would have gone to a son from the close cousin marriage of his brother. He was not quite there intellectually, so the politicians held a referendum in 1953 allowing women to inherit the throne. The voters back then KNEW, who they chose between! ( both were 13 ).

The most important thing to look for in a woman is: family/marriage type. Many women are good only for short terms. Queen Mary acted as if she was really from royal all along. She fits all criterias. They have good vibe together 😍🥰😘😎😉

Here in Norway we have the only popular elected monarchy in the world, that we "imported" from Denmark, when we gained back our sovereignty from centuries of union with Denmark, so my prayers and best of wishes from the brother people of Denmark, hoping the people of Australia will become also a brother people for us here. ♥🎉✨🎆🎇
PS! I think her Danish is great. Probably better then mine. And for those that learn it, also understand Norwegian and Swedish quite well. (Edit: It also Include Finland, where they speak Swedish as well as Finnish) Since it's also related to English, with many words that are the same or similar (that's why the language sound "funny" to many, I think, because it's similar, but still "foreign", but I can assure you things like Norwegian with a British accent is equally silly) 🙂
The university that I attended here in Australia had lots of Norwegian nursing students sent to us when I went through. I don’t know how correct this was, but at the time I went through it was the biggest nursing program in Australia and for some reason Norway didn’t have enough resources to educate enough of their own nursing students, so my university in partnership with the Norwegian government had around 30 students complete their first year of their nursing degree in Norway (which in the 1st year nursing had an attrition rate of 33.3% so it made sense to make sure they were dedicated students) before they would come to Australia to finish the final 2 years of their nursing degree. This was 20 years ago so I don’t know 1) how accurate that story is I could be completely off and 2) I don’t know if this program still exists. Anyway, all this to say I went through uni with a large Norwegian contingent, then when was living in Dublin for a couple of years working I made sure to visit though I only really got to see Oslo (which is beautiful) but my dream trip is to do a cruise up the fjords & see the northern lights

It sounds like she's speaking with a strange Danish accent, using very simple vocab so everyone understands her? It's definitely bizarre and sounds fake. But... She's done a wonderful job... So it doesn't matter. It reminds me of how Kylie Minogue and Elle McPherson's accents went really warped/a bizarre mix of accents when they went + lived overseas.
She sounds Australian to me but she has a strong English RP influence and some Danish too (no surprises there lol). I know her parents are Scottish but I wonder if they speak in a RP accent.

C. Princess Mary brought some class and beauty to her role as future queen and from what I have seen, she is very much loved by the Danes. It is sad to hear that her husband has been doing her dirty like he has. Hopefully she can maintain her grace and poise during her transition to her new role. Australia s not a onolith, either. She's from Tasmania, but she hasn't lived there in a long time. The Danish language might have influenced her own accent.
The weird thing is this is 20 years old so she should still sound like an Australian. It seems like she was training herself so she could form the Danish words more easily. They had been dating for three years at this point.

Most people start to adapt accents from the places they live in in just a couple of years. If you're not a professional linguist, you won't even realize that your own accent has changed until you return to the place you were born in and people mention you sounding strange / off to them.
