  • In this video, His Eminence Metropolitan Demetrius discusses the Gospel reading for the Sunday of Zacchaeus. He emphasizes the importance of finding Christ amidst the noise and distractions of life. Just as Zacchaeus made the effort to climb a tree to see Jesus, we must also make the effort to find Christ through fasting, prayer, repentance, and humility. Metropolitan Demetrius warns against pride and self-pity, encouraging viewers to embrace repentance and the gift of humility. He also emphasizes the significance of the Cross in our salvation and the need to trust in God's plan, even during difficult times. His Eminence concludes with a prayer for God's guidance and asks for the intercession of the saints.

    Thanks father. Im in process of healing from a severe depression, so it's very difficult to understand when is my illness, when is demonic influence and when is my sinful nature. Without Jesus I would be dead. Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner

      It's not easy for any of us, but first and foremost, we must find healing in Jesus Christ our Lord. May God help you heal. Give thanks to Him for all things. Courage!

      "Depression is a spiritual cross, it is sent to help the penitent who do not know how to repent, that is, who after repentance fall again into earlier sins... And therefore, only two medicines can treat this sometimes extremely difficult suffering of soul. One must either learn to repent and offer the fruits of repentance, or else bear this spiritual cross, one's depression, with humility, meekness, patience, and great gratitude to the Lord, remembering that the bearing of this cross is accounted by the Lord as the fruit of repentance" ~ Matushka Maria (Russia's Catacomb Saints)

      @@patrickmcadam7692 I agree 100% with that. Is one manifestation of God love, because, without the pain, we will probably never try to repent and fully love Christ crucified. Without extremely pain we cannot understand the pain of Our Lord in the Cross. Lord Jesus, have mercy on us ☦️

    A few years ago, a dear priest out here, began a homily on Palm Sunday, i believe, by saying something like, "Jesus comes to enter the Jerusalem of our minds."
    These words about Jesus going to the depths to meet us in our own Jericho [my paraphrase] will stay with me. (I hope.) Through the prayers of St. Zacchaeus and all your saints, oh, Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on us..☦💝📿💝☦

    Such words. Glory to God.☦☦ I woke up troubled by many things this morning. Prayed a lot. Saw this. Many things to contemplate, especially, oddly-enough, the the demons love drama. I understand that. Words that only someone who watched or experienced these things would know to teach us about. I am deeply grateful.

    Father, can you speak on marriage. Those of us in the world are inclined to think of it as something that completes us. In other words things like marriage and our career become an idol quite frankly and disallows us from receiving it as a gift. And making it a sacrificial reality. Oh how we are plagued by not understanding satisfaction in God.

    i see that your channels description says you are affiliated with the GOC "genuine orthodox church" of america, this is troubling to me as i have been told to stay away from them and that they arent in communion with any other branches and they have been condemned, but i have liked this channel for a while, help?(im russian orthodox in america)

      Don't listen to the slanderous. This bishop and these people are truly "more Orthodox than us, and have more grace than us!" as Fr. John Romanidis said. Since you are Russian Orthodox, I suggest that you speak to Bishop Luke in Jordanville, who would have absolutely no problem serving with Metropolitan Demetrios if he could!

    • @OrthodoxTradition
      @OrthodoxTradition  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Obviously we do not agree with those people who tell you to "stay away." We say stay away from the pan-heresy of Ecumenism, wherever it may be taught.

      Make sure you know the difference between HOTCA and GOCA. Metropolitan Demetrius is HOTCA. You should definitely stay away from GOCA.

      Oh no .. this is so sad.. the Ortodox Church is actually the only true church of Jesus Christ! Not a religion but The Church of Christ! Be welcomed and feel the light and the Grace of God. If you can join The Holy Liturgy on Sunday would be a gift that you can give to yourself :)
