You got these actually pretty close! I was especially shocked at how close you got with Fuecoco's inspirations!
Wow, you may have been wrong with the design but 100 percent right with the typing for the final stages of feuecoco and quaxly, feuecoco's final stage typing is fire and ghost, and quaxly's final stage typing is water and fighting
Everything about Fuecoco has me looking forward to locking them in as my starter when the games release. If the final design looks anything like what you proposed here, I'm officially sold! 🎉

I really hope the game Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is about the Iberian Peninsula, and not only about Spain... I think the hole concept of one of the starters being based from the Iberian Lynx is already amazing! Being a portuguese myself I really hope they make a legendary, or a pokemon based from our "Galo de Barcelos" (Rooster from Barcelos), as Junichi Masuda himself thought it could be a cool idead for a pokemon. I am not from spain, yet I would really like to see a regional variant of Tauros becoming a Spanish Bull... I think it would be awesome to combine the potential of both countries and turning them into one region, as both Spain and Portugal have incredible cultures...
i came up with these designs and the script back in early march, before people connected the dots about the iberian lynx, and i admit that if it was a lynx that would be cool as hell haha
i also think the rooster of barcelos would be a cool pokemon! and i absolutely think that tauros will get some love this time around as well :)

I really like that you pointed out the theming of the three starters as well! I actually went with a theme when I made starters, basing them off Spanish stories and myths. I will say tho, personally I find it a bit insensitive to base the main starters off conquistadors that colonized so many native populations, it would definitely alienate a lot of people. Maybe that's just me
I definitely understand the sentiment- I did also talk to some people before 100% basing these things on them, and the designs themselves can be construed as one thing or another in a vacuum (aka switching a conquistador for a pirate, etc).
However, to play devils advocate here for a moment, I also feel like the history is important, and shouldn’t be ignored, at least to a certain extent.
I absolutely do apologize if I at all offended you, or said anything insensitive in the video. That was never the intent, I was just brainstorming fun concepts as to what the starters could evolve into
@@toxiquid yeah I agree that it shouldn’t be straight up ignored, that’s for sure. I just personally feel like making not only one but all three of the starters, the most important Pokémon of the region, based on conquistadors isn’t a great idea. However, the ideas could easily be construed as something else, and the designs are really good! Just wanted to give my opinion, that’s all :)
@@SnakesAnimations I do want to clarify something that I don’t think was completely understood in the video- only Quaxly would be considered based on a conquistador, even then loosely at that (notice how in the video how when going over the design, I don’t use any actual conquistador stuff in the design, it’s all naval, pirate, and sailor themed). Everyone is instead based on the mantras that we’re stated during exploration; that being God, Gold , and Glory; there isn’t much deeper stuff then that, but I do think I should’ve explained that further.
Can we stop pretending serperior losing its legs is anything near as criminal as quadruped starters becoming bipeds.
Serperior was actually a good design, and no the zodiac starters were never actually a thing, it’s just comprised of very very common animals across the world.

Glory: Grass starter as a swordfighter
Gold: Water Starter as an Admiral or Pirate
God: Fire starter as Quetzalcoatl
ive seen the water and fire starters being that, but whats the deal with the swordfighter for the grass starter?
I think if sprigatito gets fairy and quaxly gets fighting then it would be cool if fuecoco got steel for like a secondary type trio. I know it doesn’t work as well as some of the other types but it does have the gold accents so there’s definitely some metal. Plus fire/steel is a very cool type combo that isn’t used often!

That's cool. I think the concepts might be possible. I think for the type diversity and making things balanced Sprigatito won't be Steel type though bc it would havw a edge on the other 2 while thy do on Sprigatito.

Quaxly being a conquistador is the most heard theory. But i also support the Don Quijote theory.
To fuecoco people are conecting it with a certain snake spirit/dragon on spanish folklore.
Or some prehispanic snake/cocodrile iconografies, there is a mesoamerican snake deity who causes earthquakes and volcanos

Yeah, nope. The theme will be mediterranean literacy. Quaxly will be Don Quixote, Spirigatito the puss in boots and Fuecoco the Cocollona (this one is a stretch, since it's technically folklore, not literacy)
thats the issue behind trio themes; the goal is to get everything as concrete as possible, with little to no wiggle room or inaccuracy; which is why i went with the 3 G's; its a pretty good coverall

@@toxiquid I know, your art is beautiful, is just the theme that is honestly roted, here in Brazil some white people attacked a village of indigenous people, they killed and rape children because the community reported illegal activities in their territory, 25 people vanished for almost a month, yesterday the leader reappeared to tell the police what happened, all of this is happening right now here and all of it is residue of colonization, it is still very recent, we are still fighting agains the descendents of the Europeans that will not accept the progress we made legally, that's the only reason this is upsetting, its nt about the art but the history behind all of the 3 Gs.

@@toxiquid it's not exactly your fault you know, news about any of this is harshly repressed by many powerful people here, and outside of South America is hard anyone care much about our reality, much like in Africa our continent is seen as a place where genocide and violence are "normal", the world stage only bothers with Europe and North America, Ukraine war for example is a horrible thing and we are all deeply sorry that is happening, but many more people die here every year and no international organization moves a finger... I've seen a geography TH-camr talking about how Brasilian google search has more searchs about Elden Ring them the Ukraine Russian war and I just thought "if he only knew" because gasp, only 60ish% of people have access to internet here, so no wonder our Google search had more Elden Ring then news, the news you watch on TV, not on Google.

Fighting Flamenco flower dancer would be okay. As long as it stays on theme and doesn't turn ugly or too human, it doesn't matter too much what the legs decide to do.
