Hey thanks so much for the heads-up about Golden Door. Looks like an incredible, peaceful retreat. I hadn't heard of the place before, but as a fellow SD-county resident I'm definitely going to look into it!
So, many unique and greatest hits from Seiko.. and thus is just a scratch of the surface.. but, glad to see the core of the collection, at least most from the Seiko brand represented and presented in a personslly meaningful way. Definitely one of my watch collecting heroes. To say you have had some influence on how ive guided my own watch journey would me an understatement. Keep up the great content and I don't really have to say enjoy your watches.. i know you most definitely are.
Great video of super watches . Really nice collection of watches that have meaning for you. Really like the cream dial GS with that special bracelet. Your signature diver , the sla039 is a special one. It is an unique watch with a charm that is unmatched by most others. I wear mine mostly on a bright orange dassari rubber strap. Also have a blue sail cloth for more discreet luxury. Thanks for the wonderful video of the watches, and the golden door location. I need to see it some day.
I own two of the same watches. A King Seiko with silver dial. And the Grand Seiko GMT quartz with blue dial. The only other watches I need in my collection are the 62 MAS reissue, and SBGW231
@@nerychristian you don't feel like with your KS SJE089, the GS SBGW231 would a bit redundant? The KS is thinner, automatic, on bracelet, and has more complex finishes, albeit finished to a very slightly lower level.
@@AverageBros I've thought about that. The King Seiko is such a versatile watch. With the bracelet, it makes a nice office watch with a vintage feel. I'm sure with a nice leather strap it could make a nice dress watch too.
Great collection and great for you to enjoy the Japanese culture while enjoying your passion. Can’t wait for you to visit Japan and visit Ginza and Akihabara in search of seiko passion.
Thank you and I look forward to returning to Japan one day as well, I loved my time being stationed in Okinawa and wished I was able to visit the mainland and absolutely still have a trip on my bucket list.
Love the SLA017, the Beems 62 and the new 37 mm version, although I went Tudor instead, I’d still love to add one of those someday. In the meantime, I just ordered a night vision LE SLA067! Also love your Seiko auto chrono!
I know! It was so hard not to include one but in the end I felt like the Alpinist spirit was still represented well by the GS SBGR017 and Seiko Scuba SCVF003, cheers 🥂
I do but felt like it didn't make the Top 10 of my core collection, it's one of my favorites for sure but is out done in the category of dressy everyday price by my GS and KS.
@@ozmondos Every watch I own already are part of a series of video reviews, lol. As I curate and define more sub-collections, I'll find ways to share them with you all though.
It's a Yukata, thanks. One of the many really cool traditions at the Golden Door is that the guests each wear these to dinner nightly and I filmed the intro just after dinner.

Happy to help get the word out, it was honestly life altering. Let me know how it goes for you!
Hey Mark you know my favorite is your Seiko Prospex Diver Limited Edition SLA017!
Thanks Gary, it is an absolute classic!
Honest and personal insight. Thanks for sharing the special location and your core collection. Best regards from Frankfurt, Germany
Many thanks, it was my pleasure!

Thank you and agreed 😊
So many great pieces and it’s remarkable how similar our tastes are and how much overlap we have.
Thanks David, I appreciate the support.

The King Seiko is so stunning 🖤
Thank you, I know this release caught a lot of flack from folks who've never handled them but in the metal, the quality and value is undeniable ❤
@@AverageBros like any King, it will have its detractors. However, the throne is undeniable 😉
@@_guillermo Well said!
It is a gorgeous watch. I have the one with the silver/dial. It is a stunning watch.
Impressive collection. My top three (3) are the King Seiko, the blue GMT, and of course, the 62MAS.
Thank you and thanks for sharing your top picks
Excellent video thanks Mark 👍
The Astron keeps calling me but think might be too modern looking for me.
@@daveLin104I've felt the same way for so long but this particular release really spoke to me

Great collection & very well done video 🎎⛩️
Ah, more pearls from a top commenter, thank you so much for all of the kind words and continued support 🙏
@@AverageBros I'm not shure but i think i subscribed 2019 .
Great vid, Mark! My favorite from your collection is the SBGM245 (GMT).
Good choice!
Wow no alpinists?! And completely justified when the top 10 is of this quality. Just stunning.

Thanks David.
Very nice collection! Don't you have your SJE073/SARA015 anymore?

@@ozmondosmaybe every Seiko one day but every watch would be impossible 😭

I was going to bitch about too much Seiko, but yeah, that is me as well (but my hitter is an Aqua Terra).
Fair enough, my collecting habits aren't for everyone. Tell me more about your collection 😁
What’s the Golden Door? I think I missed that part.
It's a very unique Spa and Resort experience, checkout the video description for more details, thanks.
Didn’t you have a spb143? and Mm200 in blue?
I do still own both, but considering my SLA17 and SLA039 to be the superior versions of each, they made the cut into my core collection
What is that shirt/robe called?

All Seikos? Really..
Is the Golden Door a sex retreat?
No 😂
