Been driving engines and trucks for over 37 years, first engine pulls just past the house and leaves the address for the truck co. And attacks the fire, second due secures a water supply to first engine, they should have water on the fire in less than 30 seconds. From the time the engine stops . I am a professional volunteer, not career, I which everyone would stop the whole volley vs. career thing. I’ve seen great things and pathetic things out of both. Professional does not mean career.

Alot of these Long Island departments like to follow FDNY tactics and procedures. One of them actually have a truck painted exactly like a FDNY ladder, its the first arriving ladder in the video. Them dropping the attack line at fire building is one of FDNY's tactics...my guess is the driver of the engine pulled to the hydrant and then began hooking up instead of sending tank water. They got the job done regardless

It takes way too long to get water. Firefighters standing around? You kidding? That line should have been charged as soon as it was stretched. Even if you just take the 500 gallons on the truck- most of the fire would have been knocked down while other trucks/personnel arrived. I don't understand why they don't have an attached hose and a single valve that flows water immediately. No, it won't put the fire out. But it can contain things from getting out of hand. You saw how little water it took to knock this down while another 5 trucks showed up. GET WATER ON THE FIRE! That's job 2 after you make sure no one's immediate life is at risk.
