My favorite quote by Daniel Craig: “Look at the Kardashians, they're worth millions. I don't think they were that badly off [financially] to begin with but now look at them. You see that and you think, 'What, you mean all I have to do is behave like a f-king idiot on television and then you'll pay me millions? '” Craig said.

I the late nineteen sixties I was a cellist in an orchestra and we were presented to The Duke of Edinburgh, He shook my hand and pointed to my cello. He said,
'My son plays one of these.'
    I said,
    'Yes, I know.'
    He said,
    'Did you make it yourself?'
    I said,
    'Yeah. Out of matchsticks'.
He laughed and the Pathe News cameras recorded it. That was my fifteen minutes of fame.

I think it mostly involved walking around with sheets of blotting paper and soda to be ready to clean up "accidents". Also, the dogs could be quite aggressive. On one occasion, the Queen and her driver had to get stitches when they got bitten breaking up a corgi fight. On another occasion, a butler was rushed by 9 corgis, lost his balance, fell over and knocked himself out.

Where he mentions getting the CMG (Companion St Michael St George) and Bond getting the KCMG (Knight Companion St Michael St George) there was a British programme called Yes Minister about British politics and the public service. There is an episode called Doing The Honours and some one is explaining to a politician what the different honours mean. He then explains what the members of the public service call them. The CMG is known as Call Me God and the KCMG is known as Kindly Call Me God and there is another award called the GCMG which is known as God Calls Me God

The 'what's in the box' fake mystery is at this point the only power the British Royals have.
And necessity has cut that away from time to time when Royals turned to crime and weren't immune to prosecution anymore.
Britain likes having Royals, living symbols of their country. And you can't be a religious figure on candid camera.
