Listen to music and ear train to sound selection and patterns. Most important is to practice. Once you get it you will be doing patterns like this in no time.
I'm going with the beast MPC X. I bought a gang of plugins and I have all of Native Instruments plugins so I definitely won't be buying the Maschine + for sounds like most do. I'm already loaded.
Have you ever used Reaper if so throw sum help out there, btw fire beat, keep up the good work. I have steered numerous individuals in your direction for them to learn from a pro like I did an I really appreciate all knowledge you share with us.

There's a pad mix option (theres a button for it on the One but all the modern MPCs should have it in menus)
