Ever since watching today’s video of Slinky almost dying, I’ve just been binging on Slinky vids. This is my favorite.
Slinky almost dying was the first video I've seen of this channel. Been watching a lot of his videos ever since.

It’s unfortunate but it’s is the way of life. Slinky is a hunter and that’s wt he does. Rip mr snake.
It's like when you have an indoor cat and let them have fun in the garage and THEN go back in the garage an hour later and find out they caught a mouse!!!
When you see an animal hunt -- like it's SUPPOSED to in the wild --, it shatters the illusion of innocence.
They're cold-blooded. They eat meat -- just while it's still bloody. That's the difference from when people eat meat; and, no, I don't to eat my meat bloody.
Oh well, I still went on loving that cat (most of the time -- kind of hard to like cats 100% of the time like any other animal or human being).

Yeah aniamls will be aniamls and its their instinct. We can try and prevent and keep their instincts in check but at the end of the day they are still there.

You can't control animals more than you can people in general. Sure, there are general things you can do with food and rewards but you can't control a wild animal 100%.
Every day on the road, I have to take into account not everybody around me is fully awake and there are some crazy people with licenses driving around, too. This is all despite the laws and driving licenses we were all required to take. There are people who passed their driver's tests first time who are TERRIBLE drivers -- their judgment is bad and they're hotheads. I see this a lot from TH-cam who are absolutely intolerant of even slightly diverging opinion! Overconfidence can be just as bad as timid driving and I see both all the time. That's unpredictability in spite of available education.
Slinky's a neat lizard but he's still very big and powerful. I'd be very wary around him. An annole/little lizard is one thing but a monitor lizard is an apex predator. You always have to be wary of them. I don't trust anything in the wild that looks like it can take me apart or at least do serious bite damage.

Well poor snake but that was very interesting to watch. I love that Slinky gets to act as he naturally does there. It also makes it very apparent he knows the difference between you feeding him and him hunting.

Seems he likes snakes. Maybe frozen invasive pythons could go on his diet. I see they are available down there for people who have King Cobras, and other snake eaters.
I agree. It will defaintly be a good addition to the diet. Young green iguanas can also be added.

Not sure why anybody would think an animal’s natural instincts disappear in captivity. 🤔
The whole thing about instinct is that animals are born with it and dont lose it or have to learn or grow it
Instincts are built in. It comes with the body really. It's more social structures that "needs" to be trained sometimes. Animals can be released and survive unless they are hurt or any other stuff like that

I have always LOVED Slinky from the first time i found your channel and seen him on a video but this just gave me a greater respect and love for him, a little sucky because I love all animals but it's his natural instinct to do what he did and WOW incredible seeing him be his self as he would act in the wild!!! It's one of those double edge sword things in life!!!! Love the Camp Channel, The whole Kenan Family and all the Kenan Animal Family!!!!
