    Looking good Anthony. Paint the bed orange to match the cab and rub on the other colors ... red brown gray etc ... you get the picture. Even if you use new metal on the sides you can bang it up some to make it look old and used. If you could roll a bead down the side to match the cab .. that would look cool.
    You may need a bigger motor with a high stall converter if you want to do burnouts ... of course I could be wrong but you're gonna have to video it regardless.

    • @HardCoreFab
      @HardCoreFab  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh yeah a bead would look pretty trick! I maybe wrong but I think the 6.0 should be big enough when I'm done. I guess we'll see. LOL

      Was thinking along the same lines... maybe try finding a couple sheets of panel steel that someone left outside over winter with some pitting and scratches... after a couple burnouts the sides will earn their fair share of wear n tear anyways.... keep'm coming Loving this build 🤘😁

    Bed sides you could find a old patina'd delivery and cut the sides out. Something along the lines of a old bread or milk truck.

    For the sides I would do barn board, couple tabs welded on and a few straps and she would be mounted nice. The cut ends can be discolored to match easy enough. As for a saying? " How low can you tow?" Or " Hey good hookin" or "top of its class while draggin @$$" or "body built, built with my heart, my head and my hands!"

  • @georgemcmillan9172
    @georgemcmillan9172 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Tony! Man, that bed looks killer! For the sides, why not use rusty car fenders, stitched together to make the side panels? Could be seen as trophies, and that way you could put the lettering on them lookong like old race car advertizing. Connor is on point! He is going to be one hell of a fabricator, thanks to you bringing the younger generation into the custom car culture!

Once you get the patina you want wipe it off with the baking soda and water Solution to neutralize and stop the rusting

    looks awesome, I like "hookin for blow" myself. Congrats on locking in the SEMA spot! Maybe if you want to be naughty, "Tows for Blows". As far as patina, pee on it....... or slightly more dangerous, muratic acid to produce rust. You could get some color matched paint to various parts of the cab, either buy it flat or add eggshell or flat additives. Spot paint, blend, leave some areas unpainted. Sand then hit with the mutatic acid, might need to wax the central spots of where you want the paint to remain with the acid. Wait till its where you want it, neutralize, wash and dewax. Sand and scuff, then just hit it with vinegar to get it started, and let nature take its course from there. You could always put the bed on a trailer that you didnt care about and let charles take it to work.....................

    Reading a lot about using wood but I’m not sure I’d make the whole thing out of it. What about metal up the sides from ground up to bed floor and wood bed rails? Can you use anything else from the dump truck bed for the sides? If you do choose to use any wood I have the wood planks from the floor of a semi trailer from the 40’s, great age and wear on them.

      What are the dimensions of the bed? Basically how much metal do you need? If you haven’t come up with anything yet.
