Great video dude. I’m just finishing a build on an off road VW T5 in the UK and this has inspired me to investigate fitting one of these babies on my van. Thanks!
Well that light bar looks really great on that van that's a lot of looms wow really sharp you see everything even off to the sides awesome happy trails
Nice! I have the exact same one, and have the same exact mounts, both seem r be great quality . It’s awesome! I always enjoy the videos. Keep it up! Also thank you VERY much about the wind noise fixes!!
Nice video Chad, I like the light bar idea but I decided to go with rigid lighting 4x4 size two on my bumper. They are more expensive but the lighting is amazing. I need to go out in the desert and shoot some pics. Keep up the good work.
oh and I don't have a vanagan… but would love to have one... I am on disability. But would love one to just go out and camp out kind of like you do and maybe find a nice off road lake or something to fish in.... you got a great life going... just wish I could do it myself...
Wow, this is a super install video; ingenious modifications, plenty of detail, great camera work, thank you! When I finally get my own van, I'll be using this video to get me through my own installation. Meanwhile, I'll continue to watch the experts and add to that amazon list! lol I'm so ocd by the time I get one, I'll have it planned down to the last cup-hook. (yeah I'm working on that....) :D
Hey thanks for the videos, I like your setup. Do you have a a video that shows you actually doing the wiring and drilling the hole. I'm a newb when it comes to electrical. Curious what size hole you drilled and how to wire it to the high beams. Thanks
I will appreciate a detailed account of the insulation myself, it will really help Chad to show us newbies, loooking forward Thanks & keep up the good work bro
Awesome setup Chad, and you cant beat the price! Im sure the brackets cost as much. You can get waterproof connectors on Amazon that look just like the one you used
Hey brother looks good I will have to look at one on next truck I think Optimus has enough lights now wait till you see the next build. Keep up the awesome videos. And keep on trucking my friend
I have the exact same light bar in my Jeep Grand Cherokee, I wired it up to my high beam switch and it works flawlessly. The only concern that I have is a base sounding hum that is generated by wind blowing around light bar at speed over 50 mile an hour.
Thanks Chad, you da Man. Hey, I bought the light bar Offa Amazon, but those perfectly awesome mounts they want $142+s/h is just a bit too much to dish out right now. Any cheaper alternatives out there, other than bolts and hose clamps? Anybody?👍
You get this asked alot, but when doing the van life how does the mail thing work? I get the post box at the post office but how when you live in a van?
Great video...that light looks great, and a great price too. What if anything do you do for lights in the back to be able to see backing up at night as typically the stock reverse lights are pretty useless on every vehicle?
Thanks for the video Chad! One thing I was curious about... can you have just the flood lights or just the bar on? At a guess from the single black and red wires its all on or all off?
Hey Chad, your normal lights looks like candlelight to me. What about to change these to led lights? Keep on trucking and best wishes from the home of Volkswagen.
That’s why I set the camera to manual - so that you could get a TRUE feel for the actual change in light between the two. In comparison to the stock headlights, the LED is unbelievable in brightness.
Thats fun Over 700Watt on an 1,5mm^2 cable🤣 I highly recommend buying not cheap. There is the brand Hella with the hella valuefit led I got the 5000Lumen (88watt) bar and it is better than most 500+ watt bars from china 🤦🏻♂️ I would say it is brighter than your old one. Costs 220€ here in germany. As it is a known brand this should last for a while An it even looks great.
I was thinking that too. The plug definitely looked like a huge constriction for the relatively thick cable going to it aswell. It's probably no problem, as this lightbar draws 150W at most, knowing the chinese led manufacturers.
@@JuleundMichi Avarage 10W leds can give about 700-800 lumens. According to this, 100 watt leds can give 8000 lumens. I don't think that leds consume 700 watts of power. If that's it, the cable can melt and burn as you say. Also 700 watt led lamp illuminate like crazy, it doesn't make sense to me :/ You know chinese product has unreal information, sometimes it says "5000000 lumens" on 20$ flashlight.
Hi Chad Ive been watching your vids for a few months now and want to say here in the UK where I am from sadly most people who live the van/motorhome lifestyle are forced to due to the extortionate cost of renting , for example to rent a bedroom in a shared house in London will cost £600 a month that's around $750 US dollars, the average Person earns around $1300 a month so obviously after paying rent food and fuel costs they have nothing leftover , anyway sorry to be negative but I just wanted to let y'all in the USA know the situation here , honestly I don't get why my country is so pricey as there's nothing special here
@@LivingTheVanLife Cheers Chad appreciate your thoughtfulness as I used to be a very positive person but over the last 10 years since the big recession things not been good here , anyway main thing is got my health so that's as good as wealth to me 😀

These lightbars are the best! Was super useful on our van while driving through Scandinavia last winter!
Awesome!
That made gigantic difference. It would be especially helpful for individuals with weak eye-sight.
I saw this and fitted same onto my van before my solo road trip from London UK to Lagos Nigeria…thanks for the info
I was sold in the first 8 seconds! Nice work as always Chad, I appreciate the thorough review and installation!

Have no fear, it’s just a delay in the first few moments that a video starts out fresh. It’ll catch up.

i totally agree , i fitted one to my t4 and man it makes so much difference
That’s some serious Illumination out there, many thanks for making the video.

Very clean install.
We recently bought an Excursion, and these would be perfect on our SUV! Great vid!

A great option for your van
That is so cool. I need to get a light bar for my 1984 Honda Civic. ;>)
Great video Chad.. 👍👍
You mentioned a link to the trim that will help reduce noise but I don’t see one in your link section. Welcome any deets on that!
Good job dude 👍👍👍
Thanks Bro!
Love it so much I was on my deck and dark out ,went you on it I was able to scoop my ice cream coz of my focus on your video !🍧

Dang... looks like you need to upgrade your headlights next. Love the channel.
hahahha.. That is even the "upgraded" GoWesty light kit too.
Great info and knowledge of doing it..Thank You!!
Hi do you know if these would fit a baywindow westy?
That helped me a lot (no joke) thanks:)
mustang tank awesome!!! Glad it helped
another great one, gonna put a bar on my jeep soon😎
Where is the link for the body edge trim ?
Do you use those light if there are on coming cars?... or do you cut them off when you see a car coming?
Definitely way too bright to use when cars are coming. It’s for off-road use only.
Hi. Did you put a different alternator than the stock on the engine? Tks.
That's great. i'm going to get one for my Chevy. Wonder if those gutter mounts would work on a Chevy gutter.
Hmmmm. Not sure. Depends on the width compared to a vanagon.
OK man...LOL...now you got me interested in the tool holder. Any details on that? Best
wow, looks great!

Hi. The lights looked incredible. Do you know if the police are ok with it or would they get the ump? Take care on the road regards Luke uk.
Why don't you change out the halogen lights in the main headlights for LED's?

Good question. Could be a nice feature. But on this one, it’s all or nothing.
Living The Van Life if you use a relay and a three way switch you can have off/on led only/on with high beam .✌🏽

Its easy to calculate
780:12=65Amps
For 65 amps you normaly get minimumg 35mm^2 cable better 50mm^2. thats like your small finger😅

You need to install wire inside the bracket not outside sticking out 🤘
Brother, it is very careful question, I wonder where you get wages, i mean you are doing van travel for a long time.
From TH-cam as well as the media production company MN8 Films
Nice video! Maybe in the future make a video about a night ride with this lightbar or something else, interesting... :)
Hey Chad, living the Van life there in Washington State. Where Ann in a Van ?

That’s the same principal used in airplanes, they instal “vortex generators” to disrupt the flow of the air over the leading edge of the wing!!
You need a Ranch Hand with a “winch” ever considered??
Should help with spotting Bigfoot thumbing a ride 😂
Absolutely!
Could have saved your old light. By getting a heli coil. And retreating your mount.
Did that a few times already. It was ready for another one. Lol
I know this is an old video but I think your car light (normal lights) need to calibration/adjustment.
🤔🤔😊🤓😁
🙌🏼
Don't always have to spend top dollar to get good products.
