That adaptor plate situation is pretty neat... i have read chevy engines were rather coveted overseas.

Looking forward to seeing how this goes!
I'm on my way to where you just started from. I've got a 94 530it. Just installed the 540i airbox and maf, and now I'm about to put in my new 540i intake manifold with the velocity stacks and a duddmd chip. I'm hopeful it'll make a nice impact.
But then what to do after that... Maybe what you're doing is the way to go :)

It was a really fun car with the m60! The velocity stack intake added a ton of power, but the biggest thing was the immediacy of the throttle response was just ... sublime.
While it does seem like our paths are diverging powertrain-wise. The LS swap isn't going to be the end of the e34 story. I want to do more universally e34 friendly content after the swap is done: I have a wavetrac for an e36 M3 that I want to see can I retrofit, and coilovers or maybe even bags, and an unconventional big brake upgrade are all on the build plan. So hopefully some of my future projects can benefit your car too!

Nice man, looking forward to see how it processes and to the effects of the manifold mod on mine 😊

I reckon you'll have a lot easier time swapping it in that chassis than an e36. Very familiar with E34's and couldn't decide between the two.

Would love to pick your brain. Could definitely use some help 😂.
If it's easier to swap a E34 versus an e36 depends on if you're a fabricator or not. Which I'm not 😂. So in my case the easiest would be to buy an office shelf swap kit. Which one doesn't exist for the E34. And every shop I talked to about developing one, just suggested buying a 3-series rather if that's a e30, e36, or a E46.

@@Aperture.Motorsports I'm not super familiar with bmw specifics but have helped with a few ls swaps and modified all of my cars/bikes if you have any questions/concerns.

Subscribe. A LS swapped E34 is the most tame swap I've got going on. Got a few other wild projects in progress too, just in the background. I just haven't talked about them yet

What about prop shafts do you think your e34 shafts are up ti the job of an ls engine

    • @Aperture.Motorsports

Right now I'm using the stock drive shaft as a proof of concept; And will upgrade in the future as things progress. I also have an upgraded diff that needs to be installed. it's just been a crazy summer so e34 things have been a little slow {Japan car meet video coming soon}.

Yes sir! I dont believe in gatekeeping information, I don't really see the purpose of that. In fact the second video in this series has every single powertrain part I've bought so far; complete with prices and rationales for part selection.

Thanks or watching my video and being supportive of my project!
So it was a long and hard process to rehab my leg/knee. And I lost a pretty significant amount of cartilage in my knee joint so there's always some level of background pain. Plus my knee has gained a new feature of sounding like a ratchet anytime I move it 😂.
My e34 has very minimal rust on it. There are a few spots in the rear of the car. That I plan to have handled through the buildup of this car. But there are no areas of concern in the engine bay.
And thank you again for being supportive of my vision. Really means a lot 🥲
