I lived with a woman who decided she wanted to split. We were not married, so we agreed that she would continue to live at my place until she found a place and could move. We would no longer be romantic and would not date until she had moved out. I thought we had an agreement and I lived up to my side of the bargain. Found out later that she wanted to split up because of another guy. A married man with 3 kids. She was getting plowed already. If I had to do it all over again - kick her out as soon as she wants out of the relationship. Not your problem anymore.

      LOL, blue-pill.
Females seldom leave unless they have a better option.
      Glad you learned.

If she's not getting it from you, she's getting it somewhere else.

Why do all these women say when their caught in the act, "it's not what it looks like." Then explain it to me like I'm a 6 year old.

2nd story is one I have heard before. The problem is the toxic MIL. You can't have any sense of security if she is always ready to poison the marriage. It's really sad!

OP should have put his Draconic MIL in her place. Examples:
“Wow, tell me how you really feel.”
“Who needs enemies with a wife/mother like you.”
“Nice meeting you too. At least now I know my children will not have any grandparents involved in their lives.”

Story 2, OP's wife said she never cheated, while technically she didn't do the physical action she did intend to do the physical action and maybe in her mind that is not cheating, here in the USA there are hundreds if not thousands of people serving prison time for the "intent" to do a crime(and before you say not for cheating, I'm not saying that). Intent is cheating that more often than not just actual cheating that got interrupted.

Behaving as nothing has occurred is foolish
The good wife act will not be sustainable

I HATE when men give up their kids... I took mine in my divorce and the ex farted away to parts i don't care about. Their new partner is super jealous of the people they used to hang out with. All her best friends are 40 and divorced being dog moms while my new wife and i have a happy family. What is best for the child is the parent with integrity!

Statistics compiled over the last 30 years have demonstrated that children of single-mother homes have worse outcomes than those from single-father homes. Single-father homes have children with outcomes similar to those from two-parent (father and mother) homes

The father is almost always better for the children. The single most common factor in the lives of successful adults around the world is that they had a father in their lives as children.

OP go through with the divorce, you can not trust her. She will be influenced by the dragon in the future. You will go through this again.

Story 2: He thinks he won, but she faced no real consequences. Hence, he's simply rewarding bad behavior.

      Yes.
What's to stop her from doing it again with another man?
That should be enough ground to divorce her.
      Silly him.
