Silvolf, I think that the creators of Furby intended for them to be genderless and it to be up to us, the people who bring them home and play with them, to assign them a gender if we so choose. I have coffee furby from 1999 who I assigned as male and a leopard furby from 1998 I assigned as female. They are a couple now.

I feel like they made them temperamental so that they would simulate a real pet's attitude and emotions properly. The entire selling point was that they were hyper-realistic, after all!

It was hard to find one in good condition
its hard to get the 2005 adult and baby furbies to keep talking for long because they both rely on voice recognition and if they hear background noise they won't understand what the other furby said to him

Hehe Yes. I also love the size and weight. Makes it feel as if this furby should be capable of a lot more interaction, but the cuteness makes up for the lack of it. I think the whole look and even the voice is quite girly, and named mine Brittany after the person who sold her to me. The name just fit so well. :) In my furby stories, she's the quietest, most behind-the-scenes type, but had a pivotal role in a surprising plot twist.
My rabbit is just fine, thank goodness, and so am I as a result. I'm still taking her inside with me for the night until we're sure the cat will have taken the hint not to bother coming around again. That soft-sized mesh pet carrier sure comes in handy, and Felicity does very nicely through the whole night. And before I put her back out this morning, we had ourselves a love/cuddle-fest. :)
It's sad they never gave them more interaction but you're right, the cuteness makes up for it! Besides, they are little babies and babies don't do much anyway really. The name is cute!

Exactly. :) She's very much like a new baby, wanting to sleep more than anything. Thanks for the compliment on the name, whichever one that was, furby's or rabbit's. :) Definitely, Felicity just loves my attention, and has turned into such a licky rabbit as a result. We're all doing just great again today. :)
It was the Furby but Felicity is a lovely name for a rabbit! My guinea pig Zylus is very licky as well. I'm glad you're all doing great!

The Funky Furby knows a few more songs. I don't think it can communicate with the baby Furby like the 2005 one can.

2005 furbies are the most redesign to the 1999. They do have rubber mouths which is a good upgrade. When the 2005 furby is released, you can send commands by speaking! In 2012, furby has animated crystal display eyes! In 2016, they switched eye screens from monochrome to full color.

Furbies remind me of Tattletail because in the baby furby commercial the mama said me love you because thats what the tattletail said in the tattletail horror game and I don't like old furbies because they're creepy and scary at the same time and I can have lots of nightmares if I see old furbies, the actual furby isn't that scary but if I have siri, I don't want it because siri will turn evil on 3AM and go inside my furby if I had one so I don't want siri or the old furby, I wish I had the actual furby and I'll make it as a princess.
