FYI to anyone coming by this video - these lessons and bunch Jung Gi goes over in his streams are from books by Marcos Mateu-Mestre's - "Framed Perspective Vol 1 & Vol 2". My girlfriend got them for me for my birthday after KJG talking about them in a video. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
There's something about the way he draws and his tutorials, it really makes me so focus, the way he draws things it's so interesting. At first I thought it was gonna be quite hard for me to understand since I'm not that good at English, but it's not. I find THE WAY he draws is charming.
I have seen some demonstrations of his technique where he imagines each figure is in a box or rectangle, then, based on the lines going through the box at exactly the same height on each side, one can determine the trajectory of the perspective line for each feature of the character. Basically he is always thinking three dimensionally, imho.
This was really helpful. Before the video I understood horizon line and perspective, but I did not think about setting a base length and compare other objects to it
It seems so 18,000 + people are eager to see his lectures, its cool that he is finally doing them in english, he has not been streaming for a bit now hopefuly the master is doing ok
Very useful video. As a Waterlor artist I sometimes don't pay attention to my drawing. This video is a good reminder for me to work on the drawing and getting the basics such as the eye level and perspectives right.
im happy that i started to study perspective early, i hope i can get real good at this and maybe even get close to master gi's level! thx for the video
This idea seems simple but this is the one I didn’t know even though I practiced many perspective drawing, it will help for guessing lengths in perspective drawing .Thank you so much for sharing idea and hope I use it in my next drawing 🤓🤓
it is the basis of your view the eyelevel then used as many vanishing point you want... and thats one of the hundred process its all about how we train and use our brain to view and draw all things in perspective
One thing I dont understand though is about the chinese wall he started at 11:26, does each box he drew have its own vanishing point when theyre in a circle like that or do they all lead to the same one?.
i have a really stupid question, how do you decide, how much is 1,8 m or 1 m, as he decided in the video. Such a great video, I guess I just need to watch all of it again. Many thanks for sharing.
Maybe it's redundant but he never explains where to place the feet. He just draws lines of different sizes across the plane and says "This is 180cm." Most teachers when explaining this concept specifically place the examples in a kind of single file line toward the horizon so it's more obvious how you determine the exact height.
Late message but if the eye level is established then as long as anything touches that eye level it’s gonna be that height. Doesn’t matter where the feet is
@@JTT126 You could place two characters' heads of the same proportion, right next to each other and one of those person's legs could go all the way to the bottom of the page, while the other only goes halfway.
I really wanted someone to subtitle this, I understand a little English but I still have difficulty. queria tanto que alguem legendasse isso, eu entendo um pouco de ingles mas ainda tenho dificuldade. af
Still cant get a fact that is he realy draw a 10 m person or is it a just an another 2 m person that just floating in space closer to the view ... ( probably u cant tell it - becose its all relative)
Jung Gi’s eye level be like 〰️ i get the eyelevel where there is a floor, but when he started drawing that block person vibin in the sky the perspective got lost to me
No it's not the same. But in my experience it only really applies when you tilt your eye level or use distorted perspective. But usually if you're looking straight at the horizon, it will overlap with your eye level.
Bel video del cazzo. PRIMA si disegnano le linee della prospettiva e POI si disegna il resto. Questo qui insegna a disegnare senza spiegare. Vi fa solo vedere che lui sa disegnare - ma allora? Che tutorial è, questo qui?

Yeah i agree with its also vwry easy but fully fleshed to digest, the scott robertson one is just too heavy but they re similar, idk just saying
Hey thanks for the info! I just ordered volume 1 on Amazon because of this comment.
U have the best girlfriend
Good to know. I am gonna get that book as soon as possible.
That is a very nice gift from your girlfriend. You learn everything in the books & don't let her down! 💞

this is actually i think one of the most important lessons from kim jung gi.

Oh wow, thank you for those edits! This is great for not having to go back to every stream 👌
Yes exactly
I will miss you forever, nobody can replace you. 😞😞😭
Man, you're just the best! Thanks for the effort of creating these videos! That's super helpful
Keep up the great work with these edits. These lessons are invaluable, and the channel needs way more attention than it is getting.
He was an amazing teacher, the way he simplify things and present them with ease and in a calm manner is not less impressive then his godlike skill.
This is truly eye-opening, holy shit.

this really helps me, now I can really draw with him in this one
God bless!
God bless him and everyone who push this video out
He must have been mastering it for 10 years omg how I wish I have the patience and perseverance like him goddamn my teachers are baby with his skills
10 years? More like 30 or 40
Been doing it since 6 years old age

Aun se extrana su partida de este mundo :(😢
this just blew my mind
Great work, your channel should get more attention!
Ethan Becker would be like: "He's doing MATH!"
So can there be unlimited vanishing points? Or does it have to be set amounts? Like here hes got like 4 at some point in one of the drawings
Theoretically, each object can have their own vanishing point irrc, depending on how it turns in space

You guys are awesome. Thank you!
Thanks. You helped me a lot!
Keep these KJG edits coming along Mike, very useful!

of course they have different vanishing points when they are in different agles
This helped me more than it should have

you decide for yourself based on the size of the paper/canvas you are drawing on.
I want to do perspective drawing but i dont know where to start
Thanks for this man
this was a mindblowing for me

Why is there multiple vanishing points?
Because not necessarily all of the z-axis sides of objects inside a view are going to be parallel aligned.
That’s what the on micron is for?
I really like his humor hahaha

soooo...... the eye level it's not necessarily the horizon?...i think i get it now
But it is
Your perception of the horizon changes depending on your eye level

How dare she say his name! He's Master Kim =)) say it right
Oh my, I'm wrongly using vanishing points all this time.. that's why my character sometimes is smaller or larger than items around it..
You changed it now?
I think some artists try to make it seem more complicated, so they can make themselves seem more impressive. 🙄
