Hey Will! I would highly recommend The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. I read it earlier this year and it is now one of my all-time favorites! In fact, I'm currently reading the sequel, World Without End, and it's also great!
I also recently read The Pillars of the Earth for the third time. I am currently reading World Without End for the second time.
They are excellent books.
I sooo need to read it! Hoping to maybe get to it around Christmas time! Be interested to hear your thoughts on World Without End :)
Very excited to get to Giles Kristian’s Arthurian novels!
My list:
1)«Imperium» by Robert Harris (Historical Fiction, book #1 in Cicero Trilogy about the Eponymous Roman Statesman)
2)«Når landet mørknar» (Approximately «When The Land Darkens») by Tore Kvæven (Historical Fiction set during the 13th Century end of the Norse Settlement of Greenland, think of it as a Norse John Steinbeck novel, winner of the Brage Prize for Best Norwegian Novel in 2018)
3)«Howling Dark» (Sun Eater #2) by Christopher Ruocchio (Space opera)
4)«Islands in the Net» by Bruce Sterling (80s (Post-)Cyberpunk)
5)«The Lantern Bearers» by Rosemary Sutcliff (Historical Fiction set during the Roman Withdrawl and Saxon Invasions of Britain, with some Arthurian elements)
6)Split: «Empire of Silence» (Sun Eater, #1) by Christopher Ruocchio (Space opera) & «Tiamat's Wrath» (The Expanse, #8 of 9) by James S.A. Corey (Space opera)
7) «Stonehenge» by Bernard Cornwell (Historical Fiction about the Creation of Stonehenge during the Late Neolithic Period)
8)«Warlord of the Air» (A Nomad of the Time Streams Trilogy #1) by Michael Moorcock (Steampunk Multiverse Time Travel?😅)
Cheers!
