Great video. I go used then restore them. Picked up a pair of Church Darwin's recently for about 20 quid... they were so neglected on the uppers that wear points had lost their black dye... not a problem, I have black quality leather dye and black shoe cream and wax, and they've come up like new, holding their shape almost perfectly. The soles had holes starting, so I resoled them with British oak bark tanned leather... I'm getting a friendly cobbler to do the outsole stitching, the bit I can't do. So, 20 quid for the shoes, 50 quid for the sole leather and top lifts, I already had the dye and creams and polishes.. and cork and glue, the cobbler has suggest £not much for purely stitching the outsole to the welt, so 80-90 quid and a few hours fun for a pair of shoes that retail for nearly £900 at the moment. I'm happy :)
I would add Baudoin & Lange to this! Excellent London-based brand. They’re known for their Belgian-style loafers but have classic penny and tassel loafers too.

I find that Alden goes around the same price as Hermes loafer in my country, which one do you think will be of higher quality? I'm not looking for brand but for quality.
@@LukeHodges Living in water rich The Netherlands probably helps. Although they are also my favorite house and summer shoes. Just can't find many reviews especially from fashion 'experts'.

I don’t think you can go wrong with either. I’d go with which one you prefer as a total package. Looks, grain, shape etc
