Hi Josh, I'm not sure if there are any schools at DET but there are at surrounding airports including PTK, YIP, and ARB. AOPA has some good info on the process to become a pilot and we also have a good amount of info at our club page here (I fly with a club out of ARB) michiganflyers.org/learn-to-fly
