When I was watching it, I said it was the best game I've ever watched. Incredible comeback. The teamfight was insane, these guys are looking at another TI win I reckon.
he didn't stop it, he just timed the arrow to hit after it ended, really perfect timing. its too bad it didn't result in a kill but it might've saved the SD
In all my years playing MOBAs, I can say I have never seen any pro game of League of Legends be as intense or nail-biting as this very game of DotA 2 between two powerhouse teams. I want to download this replay to my computer.
Only in Dota 2 bro. I play both games so I know how LoL works. Gotta say man, that's why dota2 is the best and the most beautiful Esport imo. I love the graphics, the map have high ground and low ground, the meta and pro scene is much more diverse and unpredictable. Who would have thought a fresh team to TI from Philippines can upsets a powerhouse like OG. And now top 5 in the tournament we have teams from Korea, SEA, NA and Chinese, gah the hype is real. I enjoy watching LoL Worlds, some Starcrat2 pro league and a bit CSGO. But nothing can be as godlike of a tournament as this.
Afk or Feed Well, League does have high ground, but it does absolutely nothing for vision. At least in DotA 2, a high-placed ward gives a huge bonus to map vision. Riot could learn a thing or two from VALVe. For me, I think League has lost a lot of its attraction after they hired Ghostcrawler. After all, he's the one who infamously ruined PvP in World of Warcraft (so I hear). A lot of the design changes to League kinda ruined the experience for me, but none more so than insisting three bans per team is enough for a large roster (about double the size it was when I first joined). It's kinda stupid how League has the second largest roster in the genre but also the fewest number of bans.
***** That's the other difference. Teleporting in DotA 2 with a Town Portal Scroll is about five seconds long, three seconds faster than League's recall system. Additionally, the TP scroll allows you to go to an area near any allied building that's still intact, unlike Recall (which goes to the altar) or Teleport (which is locked to a targeted turret, ward, or minion). With that in mind, SK could've saved their Nexus if Riot had that mechanic. Like I said, they could learn a thing or two from VALVe.
yeah that's definitely true. I'm primarily a league of legends player and watching this I never really understood how much of a coin toss dota 2 games were. with so many buffer mechanics like fortification, buy backs, a multitude of free scouting tools, as well as ways to circumvent all vision with smokes, there are plenty of tools for a losing team to stall out the game and attempts to close it out seem to be losing propositions. considering how much advantage Ehome secured from their early game, being able to have nearly full map control, and massive gold and exp advantages by mid game, its absolutely ridiculous how much agency EG still maintained with all these dota 2 comeback mechanics. I mean, Ehome got 2 pick off for free at one point and I was like "oh, that barracks in one lane at least, and if they can get some more picks during that process it should be game" but instead Ehome just settles on clearing out both jungles and pushing all three lanes to the base and I'm like "wtf Ehome so retarded, wtf is this macro". then later I found out why Ehome just had no confidence to aggress. Cuz they do it AGAIN, get 2 picks for free, and this time, they grab roshan and start going for a barracks, and its literally 5v3 with roshan reincarnation thingy (forget the name) and I'm like, ok nice, they're finally actually taking objectives! and then EG buys back and then wipes Ehome cuz suddenly is fucking 5v5 and one side just burned all their ults getting the 2 picks in the first place and I'm like o.O as I suddenly realize that EG is actually more powerful AFTER losing two members because of dota 2 mechanics. It really does cut down all the significance of early and mid game and leaves it all down to late game coin tosses, which is infinitely more tense and hype...league will never be able to create this level of tension because they will never be able to create this level of stalemate, this level of two teams sitting back, afraid to do anything because doing stuff is a losing bet. idk, maybe the team compositions are primarily to blame here, with EG having an amazing team fighting composition and Ehome was a stronger pick oriented composition, really only having warlock double ult as a teamfight tool which is tied to the eternity of the refresher orb cooldown. Maybe Ehome's macro game is actually just straight dog shit and EG exploited them at every opportunity to survive Ehome's snowball win condition and this particular game is wholly unrepresentative of how dota 2 matches normally go. I certainly hope so. because even though this match was tense, it was also incredibly frustrating too see so much map control, gold, and exp, translate into barely any macro advantage. and to see at the end the e blade/dagon cheese secure a win against a massive macro deficit...well, its hype, but I hope that this is simply a result of sheer idiocy from Ehome. idk, I hope to learn more about dota 2 to figure out how Ehome could have closed this out better. there HAS to be a a way to close out against buybacks, fortification, and smokes. I mean, other than shit like, the play, where you just turn around a smoke gank on reflex. Maybe using their copious illusion scouting tools to bait out buy backs and reset? idk, anyone wanna explain to me how Ehome could have closed out and how EG stopped them from doing it? because from watching this is just simply looks like closing out against a competent team involves a lot of guess work and finger crossing.

was watching live and my internet dropped out at the end with ehome having megas and banging on the T4's with 4 heros and and eg had 2 heros with no buy backs, internet comes back on with EG buying a rapier running down mid to ehomes ancient to win the game. epic game.
SonicAce Dave Weeeeeeeeeeeelll... I'd say Wings are depending on their draft. Eg have the best positioning and adaptation by far however. Still do honestly. This is the major reason I think RTZ can really hinder the other 4 players on eg. His map awareness is pretty awful by pro standards. EG often have to play around a very simple front line by Artour and it can suck for positioning geniuses like SumaiL, Universe, Zai, and Crit to an extent, but he is more of a fantastic lane support like PPD was.
wings have lost not once but twice too EG, soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh
Yup! First one in TI, and only 34 in the pro scene ever. You have to have the right items, the right heroes, the right positioning, and the right timing. And usually the enemy team has to mess up, too. :P
It seems every two years I accidentally land again on this game and only find it out when I come to comments section, after watching it. Let’s see for how long this will continue.. this is dota best game ever
It was an epic game by EG never would have stood a chance if Miranas Aganims septer ability wasn't unballanced as fuck at that time (later nerfed). Everyone knew it was and yet it still wasn't nerfed. Just watch at 28 minutes, after losing the game completely to that point aganims comes up on mirana and it singlehandedly wipes out their agies followed by like 50% of the team fight damage afterwards. Why do you think she was picked in every single TI6 game?
"why don't you just buff the juggernaut ?" "because he is not a rock. godammit winter" GOD FUCKING DAMMIT WINTER WE NEED FULL BUFFS ON THE FUCKING ROCK
Wings was insanely good before their problems. So it was no shame. There are phases. There was a time NAVI dominated, now no more. Strong teams come up every time
usually when a team have to deal with mega creep, most of the time that team will lose the game since its very hard to defeat the mega creep wave.. but on this game.. EG manage to defeat their opponent and won the game although they have to deal with the megacreep.. thats y its called megacreeps comeback..
Warlock ulti got baited on last fight and they lost. Undead Warlock with buyback is useless. EHome kept chasing in last fight. Should have stayed in base and defend may be.
At 55:50 he goes in as if he can but Faceless Void uses his W to lock the cool downs so he isn't able to use anything. Then he backs while waiting for his team to regroup. And at the end of the fight it seems as though he is trying to get a pickoff, but realizes he can't too late, and becomes slowed, his cool downs get locked again, and he goes down.
This is actually one of the best game I've ever watched!!!
When I was watching it, I said it was the best game I've ever watched. Incredible comeback. The teamfight was insane, these guys are looking at another TI win I reckon.
The analysts afterwards said this game was Grand Final caliber. Outstanding job by EG.
1:22:49 perhaps the sickest arrow you will ever see.
damn didn't notice what happened there at first, was not even aware you could stop jugger's ult with something after it started.
he didn't stop it, he just timed the arrow to hit after it ended, really perfect timing. its too bad it didn't result in a kill but it might've saved the SD

God the AA baby dagon is the icing on the cake for me. PPD is sitting there with 5k net worth and is like "So we building lasers? OK."

May I ask? during the picking is the hero standing in front of the players a hologram or just edited after recording the game? Thank you!
+Abz Rockers I believe it's a hologram type thing
It is only visible in the video (not really live on the stage). Think about it like the Pokemon Go Camera feature.
+TCubed it was AR.. just like poke go.. so the audience cant really see it.. u only can see it on screen..
video is stuttering very hard
Who's here after Universe's retirement PepeHands
WHAT?!
edit: "I just felt like watching this bro, FeelBadMan."
This is such an epic game. Watched the stream and had to watch it again. So many great plays for both teams.
Many thanks! Full vid! Screw highlights! Hell yeah!
yeah goodluck topping this one off at the grandfinals guys.
it's almost been a year and this replay still gives me chills
holy shit sumail is op
Volvo nerf Sumail pls
was watching live and my internet dropped out at the end with ehome having megas and banging on the T4's with 4 heros and and eg had 2 heros with no buy backs, internet comes back on with EG buying a rapier running down mid to ehomes ancient to win the game. epic game.
Best TI game ever?
no but one of the best
Best game of this ti for sure...but ti3 games were better imo!!
Maybe.
TI3 games were actually awful. Most of the games were very stompy with the exception of game 5 of the finals...
Well man its my opinion that the games were good..so leave me be will ya?
Someone maybe shoulda told this dude how to pronounce Aegis throughout his presumably years of casting dota.
Just watched this game for the first time in 2023 almost 2024
The best Dota2 game I have ever seen
Best game I've ever watched. Gave me goosebumps. USA!
usa?
Zai is from Sweden, but yeah mostly US players in that team.
Dude, Sumail is Pakistani and Universe Indian. That's already more than half the team that are Non-US.
+Abhisek Chakraborty yea but they reside in usa doe...both universe and sumail...besides they're a north american based team :D
But universe IS american
Definitely top 3 best games ever in Dota2
og alone created a new top 3 just on TI8
EG proving yet again that they are the best team in team fight co-ordination.
SonicAce Dave Weeeeeeeeeeeelll... I'd say Wings are depending on their draft. Eg have the best positioning and adaptation by far however. Still do honestly. wings have lost not once but twice too EG, soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh
if you give RTZ farm he will win.
Sinjihn Smith no. RTZ isn't a play maker anymore. He is good at getting farm. Sumail universe and zai are the playmakers.
This match brings tears to my eyes, it's glorious
This was the first game of Dota2 I have watched, I had no idea what was happening half the time but I was really hyped, crazy comeback!
What a first game to watch! You just watched one of the most unlikely things to happen in a pro game. Welcome to DotA 2!
first megas comeback in all of TI i think
Yup! First one in TI, and only 34 in the pro scene ever. You have to have the right items, the right heroes, the right positioning, and the right timing. And usually the enemy team has to mess up, too. :P
Looking back, dota really did come a long way.i wonder how different this would be in the current patch
tobiwan should be casting this epic game
It seems every two years I accidentally land again on this game and only find it out when I come to comments section, after watching it. Let’s see for how long this will continue.. this is dota best game ever
59:10 wtf happened?
so this was the first time mega creeps comeback in The International? NICE!
Sumail is one of the best players you can ever see...the key player for EG in their prime.
Top tier warlock strats from the casters during drafting
this game tells us dota is not just a game of ta king towers, there is somethng more to it.
Dota is about taking the throne. Throne is the one that matters.
AND THE DAGON FINISHES HIM OFF!! It cracks me the fuck up.
This was the best match in TI for me
agree!
Not a Dota pro here, but someone explain to me what is Juggernaut doing at 1:23:18
he was trying to go for a backdoor play, to try and force multiple EG teleports back so that the push on his base would stop, but it was no use.
I figured, but he wasn't hitting the tower. At the timestamp he was randomly running around
AA put cold feet on him, making it impossible for juggernaut to stand still, he would have been frozen then. And jugg wanted to kill AA.
Ohhh. Thanks!
he bought a desolator. look closely
"Good Joob SumaiL
This is one of the reasons why TI6 is the best TI
When the casters forget to breathe or running out of air is when you know it's a good game
i know its along game but 4th support zai so rich, he is good finding farm .
2018? and happy new year :D
It was an epic game by EG never would have stood a chance if Miranas Aganims septer ability wasn't unballanced as fuck at that time (later nerfed). Why do you think she was picked in every single TI6 game?
Undependable3 how was aghs mirana unbalanced?
wow!!! i almost have a heart attack, well played both teams
OMG what a game!!
This is the best ti game even after ti8 og comeback)
If you can't get into this replay, then DOTA is forever beyond your ken
Aether lens is cheap good item on timber. Increases the range of hook and amplifies damage of all skills
its so hard to believe that eg wins
GG
"why don't you just buff the juggernaut ?"
"because he is not a rock. godammit winter"
GOD FUCKING DAMMIT WINTER WE NEED FULL BUFFS ON THE FUCKING ROCK
Game starts @ 8:46.
I can't watch this in 720p. Sorry!
Might be the greatest game of DotA 2 ever played.
Iggy Iggles shaddap
still watching
Back when Blitz looked like Storm Spirit irl
Eg won by forcing warlock ult away from their base every single time.
THAT WAS SO EPIC!
that arrow win the GAME !! sumail salute !!
This is the game I'd watch if I could only watch one game of pro dota 2 again for the rest of my life.
TI8 grand finals game 4 though?
can someone explain why fear and universe changes lane position in this game? ty :)
to give void farm priority.
Kerry void > Kerry axe XD
Fire&Blood ppd said universe if more comfortable with void cause he been practicing
watch ppd's youtube channel. he analysed the pick phase of the game. He explains why they pick the heroes they picked.
if only this was the grand final
The video got chrono'ed at 59:10 lmao
EG are insanely good, it's a real shame to see them lose against a team like wings gaming imho.
Wings was insanely good before their problems. So it was no shame. There are phases. There was a time NAVI dominated, now no more. Strong teams come up every time
lmfao @ "eggis"
Thy greatesth comebacketh.
one of the most awesome comeback
When all else fail, everyone brings Dagon will do the job
the best international match ever in history..

Best Game Comeback Ever!!!! EG Rules!!!!

Azzimuth Holyfield holyfield? more like assholefield
Mister AzzHoly to you. Imbecile.
Megacreep comeback so sick ini TI
did you switch casters mid game?
Not it sounds like their voice is giving out. 70 minutes of an epic game would do that
look at that eg's dagons, sumail has one, zai has one, ppd has one. changed everything.
Great game. Good comeback!
1080? :(
51:29 322 gold change
30:00
I am curious. Why was this called "The Mega Creep Comeback" again? I don't get it tho i'm aware what a comeback is. Not a dota 2 player sorry.
usually when a team have to deal with mega creep, most of the time that team will lose the game since its very hard to defeat the mega creep wave.. but on this game.. EG manage to defeat their opponent and won the game although they have to deal with the megacreep.. thats y its called megacreeps comeback..
@@azrulazwan6101 oh i get it. I thought the mega creeps are the one who pushed all the way to the enemy ancient. Btw thanks
