  • We're kicking off a new series with Lorraine Hogue, a Dine' farmer in the Upper Fruitland area of the Navajo Nation. In this episode, she shares with us details about how corn plays an important part in the Kinaalda ceremony, a coming-of-age ceremony for Dine' girls. Join us as we get to know Lorraine and learn more about the importance of corn in Dine' culture.

We’re about to pass Iyanbito right now. We’re hoping to interview an educator there in the near future. Ground cake sounds really good right now haha. 🤙🏾

@@SpagoshiAll my mother's family lives in Iyanbito. My grandmother and her grandparents were born on top of the Mesa. It's really beautiful:) I attracted a lot of birds where I'm just taking pictures of nature. I also have family in Red Rock Canyon. My dads mom attends Red Rock Chapter sometimes.
I don't know if you know the last name Billie? Haha

@@kaecake9575 A lot of that sounds familiar when we spoke to Tamarah and Goldie about that area (from last year's interviews). We're planning on headed back out there. Ahe' hee 🤙🏾
