Thanks I got quite a bit out of this. I'm converting a micro camper soon too and for the toilet I'm going with the thetford 145, it's only about 33cm tall so it fits under the bed, and a nice thing is it's small enough that the waste container part fits in a tote so you can carry it in to any public toilet and empty it in there.

I parked up as it was getting dark. I too had to go outside my van to get to the back. I could not see and stepped in some dog shit. It stank the van our and I found it hard to get to sleep. They were the only pair of shoes I had so I didn't want to risk leaving them outside
Having a toilet is more important than having a kitchen. You are not going to explode for lack of food but the other end could

This is a genuinely amazing video, so insightful! I'm starting vanlife in a few weeks, so this was really helpful. I'm at war with myself over having a toilet or not haha.
Just my thoughts, but looking at your top three performing videos by views, the thumbnails featured you more prominently. This video is so helpful, it deserves a really good thumbnail to make people click through.
Looking forward to your next video!

Good insight, you only know what you want when you try it... I'd love to see the camperization process! I want to buy a van like yours :)

Good video and no, you're not being a drama queen. IF it was me, the bog and the bed .... no compromises.

the fact that you made it to the end of the video to hear me call myself a drama queen honestly means so much!! but yes, lesson learned about the toilet haha

Full time in a small van is going to be minus craic no matter how you change the layout. Small vans are great for access and parking, but realistically you will always feel cramped until you can stand up inside. What you could do is add a roofbox which will give you a lot of storage space. Doesn’t solve the getting in and out part, however is a good place to store a portable toilet ;-)
Just be aware it will reduce your fuel efficiency a bit and you will be too tall to enter certain car parks, but totally worth it imo.
I think changing the seat is a good idea. You should be able to find one from a breakers. I typically start with Traynors up north.
Adding a new fridge is not worth it unless you are going to have a beefy power station or a few lithium batteries to power it.
You should also look into adding an external awning as we are coming into the warmer months. Can make the van feel so much bigger. Look forward to seeing what you do and wishing you best of luck with it

Spend the extra money and buy a passenger seat that has a 180° swivel.

It took me a long time to realize how important it is to make things simple for yourself. Most of your complaints fall into that category and to be honest I could see myself doing the same.

I suggest you time how long your rechargeable lights last. Once u know that, recharge one of them when half that time has gone by. That way you’ll always have a working light.

Compressor fridges seem to cost more but use a lot less power. No Solar panels is a surprise, isn't Ireland clean skies, so although cloudy you would get a good charge. I've seen a few people with an insulated curtain that drops down the back, preventing drafts really helping keep the van warmer once the winds blow cooler. Its been hell again the last few days here in West Cornwall, you know boxes in front of any air vents, which I have to move to open front door, brain and body saying go the hell away -oops its the prescription delivery man.

Might sound a bit off-topic or random, but I’ve always wanted to move to Ireland and I just wanted to know if you’ve any tips or anything worth mentioning for doing so
