YESSS !!! Which is what I love. You don´t have to go out and buy everything when you are starting off in golf. Use what you have in your own home and spend money on the golf equipment.
If you live in Canada, yes, you probably need to have a toque in the bag, but not so much here in sunny Florida. Best here to carry a LARGE umbrella as the summer rain here is usually heavy. Additional to snacks is water and Gatorade or something equivalent as the heat and humidity here can make heatstroke a definite possibility (I've been there) unless you're hydrated. A wet towel around a golfer's neck is also advisable to cool down a bit, SPF 70 sunblock to avoid burning, and bananas are a better snack than candy or granola simply to add potassium back as it's lost by sweating. 2 things unmentioned which I would advise would be 1) a weighted practice club, like an Orange Whip for warming up before playing and 2) some toilet paper as rest areas at courses may be dirty porta johns or simply, of necessity, an area behind some bushes and then a small packet of wet wipes to make sure you're cleaned up and the club grips are not contaminated. In a hot climate like FL here, I'd also advise carrying either magnesium tablets or gummies to swallow after a round to help eliminate cramping from the heat. Been there and done that and the cramps can be agonizing. With heavy sweating both magnesium and potassium need to be replenished. PS: A Sharpie to mark your ball for identification is also a necessity.

Where abouts in the the world do you live? If in the US / Canada I would recco getting fitted at PGA Superstore, Golf Town, Golf Galaxy. You will need to get clubs that work for you and getting fitted ( which means that someone will help you pick the right clubs for your height, swing speed, etc...) DM me on IG if you need more help.

Believe it or not. I have to take a frozen Snickers Bar with me. I know, not at all healthy. But when you are a cholaholic it is imperative to have your Snickers (always Frozen) in your bag.

Hi BInson, the reason I recommend the 2 straps is because when you decide to carry you bag for a round of golf the single strap bag is not comfortable. Double strap gives you even distribution of weight on both shoulders when carrying like a backpack. If you already have a single strap, not to worry. Do you see yourself carrying your bag for the round of golf or are you more likely to use a golf cart or a push cart?

Experience will show that you need at least 2, a spare should always be available if the palm rips out or the glove gets soaked with rain or sweat.
