EDIT: A sequel to Case Files has been recently released and it's called "The Adventures of Lord El Melloi II", which takes place post F/SN. I'm planning on making a follow-up video on the lore behind the new material sometime in the future.
Gray... Rave... Crave... Deprave... This was a nice change of pace, Sadonrii. I'm loving Case Files so far tbh, though I'll admit, train murder mysteries are my weak spot in general and once we hit that part I was HOOKED. Always interesting hearing more Fate lore! Keep up the good work!
There's some wrong info in the video. Just to state a few: From the novel, Grey and Waver (El-melloi II) met in the village as Waver is looking for anti-spirit specialist, as he wanted to participate in the 5th holy grail war that is bound to take place soon, in order to meet rider again. So, he went there to scout Grey‘s master, the actual grave keeper and an anti-spirit specialist. Servants are to some extent (more advanced forms of) spirits according to Waver, which is why he is at the village in the 1st place. The village is famous for being a graveyard for spirits. Anyways long story short. ---MAJOR SPOILER---- Grey‘s mom tried to protect her from the villagers, allowing Waver to leave with Grey in the middle of an incident. Grey’s teacher, the one whom Waver tried to headhunt, passed Grey to Waver. (Grey at that point didn't know her mom tried to protect her.) As for Rhongomyniad, it's cus Add is a seal to protect user from becoming like a god, losing human emotions in the process. It is also to protect Rhongomyniad as it will loss it's mystic if it's not sealed. (Some type moon magic settings.)
@@Sadonriiyeah. They r from the 6 n 7. I might be off on the exact details. I read them in Chinese, they had the entire series translated with decent quality. I really love this series, it have a very gentle touch to it.

Rhongo definitely had the seals like how Saber's Excalibur had. Unsealing all the seals mean it will unravel the reverse side of the world. That means bad news, and yeah it will turn the user into divine being *see the lion king from Camelot singularity*. But Saber's Excalibur was fuck ton scary since she's under geas using it. She cannot used it's full power only when the world is under threat.

@@runelt99 I figure that Sunny route has a similar epilogue as the regular where Rin and Shirou go to the Clock Tower, with Rin directly under Lord El-Melloi II, and since he is no stranger in involving his talented students in his cases, it wouldn't be hard picturing a scenario where Gray and Saber meet. Heck, you could even debate (though far less likely) that there's a window for Saber to cross paths with Mordred during Apocrypha events.

Summoning Saber in the Fourth Holy Grail War seriously altered Gray's body, causing her to change drastically into Sabers body. I'd say summoning Saber once again seriously altered Gray in more ways than physically. Due to the villages attempt to bring back the era of the Gods, they used the DNA of Artoria or through the use of Rhongonmyniad and install it into a human, but after numerous failures, they went to Gray, but it was at that precise moment Artoria was summoned by Irisviel and Kiritsugu, causing her body to go under a drastic change from her original form to Artoria's body. The reason why they can attempt to restore the Era of the Gods is to bring back Mystery, Mystery is the source of all supernatural phenomena: Magecraft, etc. However, due to the modern world being more and more separated from the era of the Gods, Mystery began to declin, they only reason the village can do so is due to the lance that Gray wields; Rhongonmyniad. It's a pillar of light which function is to keep the reverse side of the world and earth fastened together, however, since Artoria was the last king before the end of the Era of the Gods, Artoria is the only one who can possibly bring the true power of the lance. So, if they were able to get Gray to do it, they the Era of the Gods in England would be restored, remember there's countless pillars all over the world, so Gray would have to visit each one to do so.
Yeah I learned months after making this video that at the end of novel 10 Gray's hair turned blond like Saber's along with other things for the 5th grail war. Just waiting for the novel sequel to come at the end of year to see how Gray's fate turnd out in the end. Apparently Rin will show up in the next novel too.
Sadonrii if Gray has Artoria's memories, Gray could be able to see the memories of the Fifth Holy Grail War. Don't forget Artoria made a contract with Alaya, therefore she is able to remember when she was summoned... if it followed by the Fate Route I'd wonder how Shirou would react. Perhaps by meeting Rin the memories inside of a Gray would be triggered to awaken by meeting her. But I'd say Gray herself would have two separate personalities, one is Gray herself and Artoria is the second, presuming that she wouldn't want to hijack someone else's body and completely erase the owners personality.
When Artoria was summoned as Saber for the Fifth HGW, Gray's body altered again (along with gaining blonde hair) to obtaining Saber's "Element of the Red Dragon", Merlin's gift which allowed Artoria to use the dragon's blood in her body as substitute to magic circuits. Main difference between the variants are Rider (Iskandar), Saber (Artoria here would be Lancer, and we already have one), and Archer (EMIYA would not answer with Shirou dead).
Imagine if they fully awakened artoria during the fifth holy grail war, involuntary, around the same time as shirou as he was about to summon her, now recall what happened to the following people: sieg (whose body held the spirits of both Siegfried and Fafnir), Galahad (both his normal and alter selves were put into the bodies of young girls) and Jean de arc (her host body volunteered herself for her)
Quite an interesting story, the anime Lord El-Melloi II Case Files didn't explain her backstory, but it's nice to know more about her than being another one that looks like Saber

Gray's not directly related to Arthur or Mordred. It's most likely she's a distant descendant of one of the offspring of Morgan Le Fay who was Arthur's biological sister in the Fate verse.

Nah. Arthur's own direct bloodline ceased to exist after Mordred's death. The only remaining family of the Arthurian bloodline was Arthur's sister Morgan le Fay who had multiple offspring.

She was probably there (post-edit) as a bodyguard, but likely did nothing of significance given that the Greater Grail was taken apart by the magi.
