- Testing out the Diamant Film Restoration Suite on an old Italian print of Star Wars...
This software costs thousands of dollars. If you can spare any money to support this effort, please consider donating via the address below:

In addition to more prints of the Star Wars saga, we also have 16mm prints of The Making of Star Wars, SPFX, Classic Creatures and From Star Wars to Jedi that need restoring. Having professional software would make it that much better.
Diamant should sponsor this channel, I didn't know anything about the software for film restoration, but it looks great.
You are doing the Force’s work. Thank you so much!
Nice work with Diamant, thanks for sharing 👌
Can't the negative be scanned in infrared for scratch/dirt removal? The "Digital ICE" system works amazingly well in the Konica-Minolta DiMage photo sanners I have used. Far more accurate at spotting actual surface damage and dirt than looking at the visible channels, and much much faster than manual. It generatea a damge/dirt mask and then the sotware automatically fills in the spots from neighboriong pixels (or exports the mask and raw image data for you to use your own fill algorithm)
Kinda surprised that all film scanners woudn't use that "Digital ICE" process (or other similar) considering the huge number of frames to be scanned and the speed and near perfect accuracy of using an IR channel.
Our scanner is a Blackmagic Cintel II. Unfortunately, it doesn't offer the infrared damage matte option.
@@TheStarWarsTrilogy77-83 Hi i've got a quick question, what happened to Dr Dre's color correct tool? Is it still usable? I managed to get a copy of the 1.3 version but my exported LUT's from the program are unable to load in premiere and after effects, im not sure whats going wrong. But i would love if you could help me out ;)
Amazing!
With all the damage how can this make 4K77 any better? Or will it help with 4K80?
It will definitely help with 4K80 v2 and the 70mm scans of Empire.
@@TheStarWarsTrilogy77-83 cool, I just put in another $10, thanks!
Are you doing anything like the liquid technique used for the Jaws restoration?
Do you plan to completely repair this Italian tape? It would be great and would help when creating new versions of 4K77, And this software would also help restore the Star Wars special edition trilogy that are on the forums
Story of my life, you ever need help with Restoring give me a shout would love to help.
