It was a day of mapping trails above the Roosevelt Lake area with a couple friends. These are both great trails to do for a day run or on your way up to the pines around Young. The trail out to Parker is easy and leads you all the way out to an awesome vista above the lake. The canyon ledge will truly take your breath away. The trail up to Asbestos is tough for stock rigs, as you'll see a locker was used on a couple of occasions. The view from the top by the mine is incredible and exploring the area after lunch was cool.
Once I looked at the footage, it turned out to be a pretty good comparison between a JKU and the 5th gen. 4Runner TRD. They also had different selectable lockers. The JKU had a front locker only and the yota had the stock one in the rear. As you can see, the front locker helps in certain situations but not in others. The JKU had slightly large tires that helped a little, but in most cases, I don't think that was a factor. The flex up front is a huge difference.
The trails are FR 488 and FR 489 Asbestos Mine. Both coming to www.trailsoffr... soon.

That old steam shovel is so cool. I'm sure the road was in much better condition when the mine was operating, but I still wonder how exactly they got it up there.
We're always amazed by what we find and what earlier people were able to accomplish. Thanks for watching
Bobby, Thank you for your contributions to the Community.
RedKnight75 I appreciate the comment and thanks for watching.
Can't wait to get some tires for my rig. I'm missing so much. Great video Bobby.
Thank you! No hurries, it's crazy hot outside.
Two door Jeep looked like it had the easiest time of it...
It's simply my experience gained on more difficult trails. Thank you for watching and for the comment.
Bobby, another great run and video, but that white 2 door is the one to watch
thanks Mike

alex rivera Thank you and I hope to get back over to NM soon. Love it there. Thanks for watching!
I wanna do that trail I saw your video and I started to looking for the trail but the only thing I got is freeway!! 😢
The main route is all pavement but the trails that it passes are what I put on here. Parker Point, Asbestos Mine and others in the Young area make it a worthy route. Thanks for watching.
So, I cant find where this trail starts. could you please give me a rough start of where I would turn off for this? Thank you very much.
I have both these trails posted on Trailsoffroad.com Here is a link to Parker Point and Asbestos is located right up the road. www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/3204-parker-point Thanks for watching.
