Kajwang’ graced the political scene in style

Gerald Otieno Kajwang could pass as a man who ate, drank, talked and danced politics. Politics flowed in his words and his blood to say the least. The 55 year old, made his presence felt during his times as a student at the University of Nairobi, in the late 70s. As a student leader, he spoke against the then President Daniel arap Moi’s government, eventually forcing his expulsion from the university. The combative lawmaker would eventually venture into politics, and has been vibrant ever since. The departed Homa Bay Senator was a passionate defender of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, and a vocal ODM loyalist till his demise late Tuesday night.
