Thank you very much PAP!! I will take your word, because myself, I have never been able to finish it properly. I always get discouraged at some point. Hahaha that means a lot! I plan to publish more than I was posting before now :)
i've heard artists discourage others by saying that if you aren't going to finish inktober, don't do it but i honestly disagree because at this point, it's supposed to be fun for everyone involved
@@dangercrue well I think 31 is definitely hard. If someone can't handle that it's fine and they should set a different goal. Like every other day. Or few a week. Whatever is realistic for them. Because whatever goal they set if they accomplish it they will be happy. But if they want to do 31 and then fail they will probably be dissapointed.
i'm by no means a professional artist (or even amateur) but i recently felt the desire to draw something so i decided to do inktober. i'm only posting it on my private account with no subscribers but i feel like it's going to help me start drawing more seriously. it's such a nice idea and i think because i'm free this october i'm going to finish the whole list.
I really want my Inkober art to be inspired the artwork of Edward Gorey no gray just hatching to get tones It allways has the gothic comic look that I adore and I will give me a chance to step away from digital art and bond with trad. materials.
Wow, that is an amazing inspiration. Thank you for sharing him. Indeed, I want to do the same, take inktober to dedicate some time for traditional drawing improvement. I don{t know what to focus on yet though, have to define it soon!!
I want to challenge myself but I don't own ink and have no experience with it whatsoever. So I will use the medium I prefer for my first inktober, digital. My challenge will be to draw a finished piece every day because I usually just sketch, never finish something or get frustrated after a couple of lines. Can't wait tho! I would want to improve on inking and start experimenting but I'm saving that for next year and get ready until then + some experience in ^^
@@alicia3757 I do have ball point pens but I can't work as precisely as I want to with them so I think doing the pieces digitally and with far more effort and fun will prove to be a better challenge for me but thanks for the suggestions~
This is my first year trying it. Planning on going old school with a ball point pen at first, and then if I feel up to it, bringing in the brush pen. And I've also got some Inktense pencils I can use if I wanna add color. My main worry is what to do if I get stuck on the prompt and don't know what to draw.
The Most important part is to improve and have fun. Many people don't even follow the official print list and make their own. Or not have promts at all. They are there to make it easier for you to get ideas every day. If you get stuck just draw what you want that day. Or find a promt from a different list ❤ have fun
Great Video! I just want to mention a couple of supplies which you didnt mention because i think they´re important: nib pens, fountain pens and ink wash. Looking forward to inktober and to all the amazing work People will create 😁
I was looking forward to doing my first inktober. I'm just getting into drawing, after not having 'picked up a pencil' since high school, 30 years ago. So I'm a noob, and not very good. After seeing what others can do, I am very intimidated now and having second thoughts.
I'm self taught and want to improve my art, so I understand what you feel like . It seems like one of the set backs of social media is how it frequently ends up demoralising people and the thirst for 'perfection' leaves many burnt out. But please don't give up on taking part in inktober because of this. You'll have fun and get the opportunity to explore various facets of your creativity. And next year when you participate again, it'll be nice to look back at this. Of course this is coming from someone who has never participated herself. I don't do my best when promts are involved. I might simply practice some sketching though .
This is going to be my first year doing inktober!!! Really quick question I know it has to include pen ink, but can I use other materials like sharpies, colored pencils, etc??

Only recently, I ventured into watercolors, and now I'm finding myself knocking on ink's door after finding Inktober mentioned on Doodlewash's October Drawing Challenge. I know comparing is a no-no, but it's so difficult not to at times. I see ink drawings like the hardcore, cool kids in school lol. I've definitely not got a signature style... if anything, I'd be vintage, pin-up, Americana type of art. I'm going to look into the resources you mentioned and explore my vintage Americana inclination as well. Thank you again, Lucas. I'm looking forward to getting my ink on!

. Can I work digitally? A: Yes. Initially, the challenge of Inktober was focused on traditional inking. Although learning how to ink digitally is a skill separate from traditional inking it is no less valid. If you want to improve your digital inking skills then doing Inktober digitally is a great way to challenge yourself. Just be cool to those who want to use traditional inks. And traditional inkers, be cool to those who are trying to improve with their digital inking. (I copied and pasted from the inktober website)
