Milk, Wall-E and the Dark Knight were the ones that stood tall at the end of the decade. All 3 made it in nearly every critics best of the decade list. Slumdog on the other hand constantly gets mentioned in the list of the worst best picture winners.

It's because Indians don't like this kind of movie. Majority like movies which are not nominated here. list includes some top hollywood movies and majority of Bollywood movies. Theatres didn't wanted to take risk with a new movie. Also the promotions were poor in India. As what he said. They didn't had much money. It was a collaboration. But time has now changed, low budget movies like drishyam Andhadhun are also great with amazing story. I think Slumdog Millionaire could have done more in India, If that was properly promoted before release.

And the way Anne Hathaway was cheering for the cast of this film, gives another reason to love her. And other Hollywood stars as well, were so humble in cheering them. Cheers for this genius film and great City of Mumbai and my India.
