I find it very interesting how differently people internalise the Quran I find this chapter is very empowering for people who live spiritual, God fearing lifestyles but maybe for someone who is more secular it would feel forceful and foreign. It’s good the person reacting gave his honest opinion instead of hiding how he really thinks. It would be nice if you discussed with the non-Muslims instead of just throwing them into theology with no understanding of basic concepts in Islam:)
Thank you for your feedback! We really appreciate it and yes that is something we are definitely going to do going forward. For this specific reaction we clarified some of the misunderstandings of the guest to him afterwards, specifically the fact that Islam does not prescribe instant death/punishment to people, rather there is repentance and Allah is The Most Merciful. Punishment is for those who failed to believe and repent. And also clarified that the "harshness" in this chapter is there for a reason, as it was one of the early chapters to be revealed at a time when the Muslims were being strongly persecuted, tortured and killed. So Allah gives encouragement that the same belief that Muslims were mocked for will be what saves them in the next life, and on the day of judgement it is the believers who will have the last laugh.
When it is harsh where is the wight of justice second not to believe and thanking hwo is created everything for our life to think to see to have logic to choice there is only one way the way of prophets from adam until the last one Mohammed peace be upon all of them,,, not to believe on this creator is the biggest thing 2 followings your desires you will get lost 3 to make bad deeds is the third as well believers will go to hell for their bad deeds but Allah forgives hwom will repend truly to give the unright back to the owner hwo made lie in a judge could go back to jude that he was lying hwo took money unrightly to give it back etc ,,,,, hwo has knowledge to share it but with proofs and right to fight for right not to help unjustice not to make corruptions and have responsibilities for Allah has given us to threaten just with each other,,,, oh my lord and the lords of everything be my witness to give this message
