- For Bassunga and his men, the road to wood can be strewn with pitfalls. Every day, he takes to the forest in his old truck with his comrades. Without any protection, bare feet and hands, they can cut down twenty trees in a few minutes for a miserable salary. A totally illegal activity in Mozambique but which makes the traffickers happy who then send the wood to China where the needs are immense. For simple travellers, the roads of Mozambique quickly become hell. In front of his minibus, Johnny is desperately waiting for the client. The torrential rains of the night do not encourage him to leave but he has no choice, the truck must be filled otherwise the day will be lost for Johnny. Between the impassable ruts and the traps set by the inhabitants, the 100 kilometers of track will take on the appearance of an odyssey.

Thank you for these documentaries . It's helping me , and I'm sure others , get a view that we've never had before , of life for people in far away places . How hard their lives are . Yet they do not complain or give up , they just persevere , and even find a way to love their lives . I live so comfortably and securely , yet complain about the minor inconveniences in my life . These documentaries have helped me come to better appreciate my life . What a privilege it is to live as an American in the 21rst century . I'm glad I live in America , and not somewhere else . I hope for a better life for these people .

@@Voidy123 I am not a media person. I was forced to record that when I certified as a change manager. I live in Africa - why not come out here and we run for an entire day through the bushveld here in the blazing sun and see how you pan out? Some people must do anything to earn money. The factory workers here in Eswatini earn $30 per month. Many sleep on the premises for the entire month because they need to spend up to 80% of that meagre sum on transport to get to work and back home. They are many things but stupid is normally not one of them. Anyways you probably did not have a single hard day in your life so be thankful.

I would guess these were all recorded many years ago and they bought the license to them. I believe this is the case as all the episodes are only 144p-480p resolution. No way something made recently would be that low of a resolution. I agree tho they are good.

This is painful to watch, especially the deforestation part. The consequences will be dire and it will not be for Mozambique or Africa alone.

That is what environmentalists never understand - they always want to treat the symptom, not the disease. Poverty is the disease.
All over the world, people destroy the environment out of desperate poverty. For example, these young men would not be cutting down the entire forrests if they didn't have to, in order to eat; if their economy wasn't complete garbage, they wouldn't have to do this to survive.
And like I said, tree planting solves nothing. For one thing, it takes way too long for the trees to mature - by time they do, environmental issues have already taken place, ie. soil erosion. For another thing, they will simply be cut down again. It solves nothing.
Also, it does nothing to solve the utter misery of the people who live in complete poverty. And that counts. Because there is no point in saving the world, when so much of it is people in are living in abject poverty and misery.

Man when you car or truck get overheated don't turn it off let the engine run then pour water on the top of radiator until it cool down then open the lid pour water again on the radiator until the engine back to its normal temperature.. hope your cylinder head had no damage 🤣🤣🤣

No - he didn't point out Madagascar. "Ilha da Mocambique" (Mozambique Island) is indeed pointed out on the map. It's correct. It's a small Island off the coast and used to be the original capital of Mozambique, until the capital was moved to Lourenco Marques (now Maputo) in the late 1800s. "Mozambique Island is gorgeous. It still exists and is a UNESCO heritage-listed site. I lived there 1994-96. Cheers.
