The concord trailer seemed like it could've been a well written "we robbed from the wrong people" storyline and been a cool single player / co-op shooter across a universe or something .. but they just make another boring competitive shooter

I wish the discussion about PSN login would have someone properly explain the point of view of someone living in a country that cant buy any SONY games on PC suddenly (EU one in my case). You can buy PS consoles in these countries, you can make PSN accounts by selecting other valid country and adding funds through gift cards or faking some data (basically doing things against TOS which they dont enforce). You could always figure out how to play these games on consoles, but for PC until now after recent events - when we open steam and search any of the games they dont appear there. If you pre-ordered it, it got auto refunded. If you have it in wishlist, it will redirect to an error page. Me and my friends pre-ordered Ghost of Tsushima on day 1 it was on steam and then we all got auto refunded. None of us would have minded creating throwaway PSN accounts. Now we wont be able to even buy single player games - Ragnarok as an example.

I hope Concord is good. We had one of the best online shooter in nearly a decade with OW1, then activiation completely killed it to the point where no one should be supporting it as far as im concerned. If they do concord right i'm all for it.

I'm really not a fan of the idea of "overrated", overrated suggest that there is an objective and universal "correct" rating of the said property, yet such thing does not exist, Bloodborne can be as good or as bad as each individual person feel about it. If you feel like everybody likes a thing more than you do it just mean you have a different set of preferences from others and that's the end of story, nothing is being "overrated". No one is more correct than others on subjective matters like this, you thinking something isn't good does not change the fact that someone else really likes it. Both perspectives are valid and do not need to eliminate one another.

Bloodborne has become a cult classic but it didn't sell well at all on release. Neither Sony nor Fromsoft have any real proof that a port or remake will sell well either other than internet hype. Which doesn't always or even often translate to enough sales to justify the costs.
I don't get the ps5 pro thing. Every ps5 game I've played already runs at 60 fps so i don't get why sony is selling it or why people are begrudgingly expecting to buy it when the base ps5 is more than good enough performance wise rn.
The soap box about gacha games always gets me when I've learned we all have are own vices in video games. Some are gacha(Genshin Impact), some are quality of life locked behind money(Path of Exile, paid subscription(World or Warcraft), and shovel ware games. I also learned not to trust streamers opinions if it's sponsored I'll wait till they're not sponsored. Until then it's all paid gray lies and bullet points. The older days when content creators didn't have to announce they were sponsored until the damage was already done. Those were some good ol times.

No Bloodborne is absolutely not overrated. Its a game with great, slick combat, fantastic bosses (especially with The Old Hunters dlc) amazing atmosphere and music though its not my favorite fromsoftware game which is Sekiro

With all the Microsoft talk....I feel like Dropped Frames has forgotten about the dozens of other gaming companies that also fired 10,000+ companies this year. Microsoft is the 'fresh' one because its recent and notable...they are FAR from the only one. This stuff was happening so frequently in Q1 2024 that Game Mess Mornings was covering news stories of it 3+ shows a week.
I really don't understand the appeal of VR. I mean, sure, the technology is cool, but it's not something that I ever intend to own. No matter what game I'm playing I still want to be aware of my surroundings - pets, kids and other people around me etc. I really don't understand the appeal of it...
Bloodborne is SO awesome, I've never seen any of them replay it in the last 5-7 years. Starting with concord was bad, didn't the last state of play start with a infiltration shooter and then moved into Foamstars?
The main issue with Hero Shooters is that a lot of the characters in one game are basically a mashup of characters in a different game. Both Personality wise and loadout/skill wise. No matter how well made they are, they always feel like knockoffs. It doesn't help that a lot of non hero shooter games have started incorporating these systems (cod & bf just to name some popular ones).
Hero shooters need to take risks. Instead of each character having 1 set skill set they need to give them customization and/or 2-3 sets of skills. They need PVE modes too. A lot of people do not want to play pvp and that can kill those games immediately when they have characters that would work in an rpg/pve system RIGHT THERE made.
People seem to forget how bad the FPS was in several areas of Bloodborne. Try to play the game again on PS4. It is hard to go back and play that game without noticing these issues in year.

Hero shooters typically have nothing deeper to them than the same gameplay there's no story, there's no deeper customization, there's no unique style in how one person can play a character differently than the other person; almost every hero shooter is the exact same formula from what team fortress first put out, and then blizzard refined with OverWatch
I would be more interested in a hero shooter if it was PvE/vP , like with what Capcom tried to do with ExoPrimal I think people are tired of competitive games, and they want more cooperative experiences that they can play with their friends, and they are fighting a common enemy that they can build strategies against, rather than some no lifer who understands the frame data, and you can't actually get better against because you don't have the time
I was thinking the same thing, but phrased it differently. They all have these really elaborate cutscenes and trailers to make it seem like you're going to be introduced in a novel, to end up just being "escort this across the map" "secure these 3 points" better learn the meta quick *yawn*
Exactly, none of them offer customization and varied content. That is why Overatch 2 canceling PVE pissed so many people off. It was offering an actual interesting mode with talent trees, choosable skills etc and they couldn't get it to work somehow? The characters and mechanics already work well for these skews but they're doing nothing with them. Give Genji chaining shurikens or Forking when hitting enemies for clearing hordes of mobs, add status ailments, gear, progression. I don't believe they couldn't make it work.
So strange, I imagined that hero shooters are a bad investment..but their not? Companies are just making a bunch. Valve has one, X defiant is basically one, then marvel one..probably bunch more. I guess they just make easy money

Bloodborne is like Mad Max Fury Road. A lot of people really fucking love it and will not stop talking about why they love it. They will show the legitimately amazing things it does and flaunt it. However to people that either enjoy in a more leveled way or have no interest in it, the overwhelming level, seemingly impossible level of quality it's been placed on can be off putting to some. So then they go "it's overrated". I love Bloodborne and I think it's one of the best games FromSoft has made, but I don't view it personally as like the pinnacle of all gaming like some do. I feel there's legit issues with the game (not performance wise) that people seem to ignore.
It reminds me a lot of my relationship with Undertale. I remember when that game was a goddamn Phenomenon! Buuuut, I didn't play it then. Hearing people scream from the mountain tops that the game is essentially the second coming of christ, became really grating. So I've no interest in playing it ironically. The people recommending it too forcefully put me off of wanting to try it.

Unlike worlds, Monster hunter wilds is FULLY open world. If your not a fan of the switch weapons for blood born then the game just isnet fun to play. I love dark souls games and being abile to choose my play style. You dont get that in blood born. So for me... Blood born isent as good as the dark souls games. Same with that Sekiro, if your not a fan of the parry system well your kind of out of luck. Big difference between blood born and Sekiro is that the blood born style is WAAAAAAAAY better and the world is fantastic. Just wish i liked the gameplay, but i dont.
My guess is Sony is going all in on PSN account because of their new overlay for pc games that unlocks trophies etc on pc and makes them run worse xD Poe 2 will have couch co-op on console and pc.
@@BlackTone91 Plenty of people that have deleted the overlay file from Ghost of tsushima and it runs better. Alot of ppl also have gotten crashes everytime they got a trophy. So something with the overlay isn't working properly

There is an unofficial ps4 pro patch that runs the game at 60fps

Hero shooters typically have nothing deeper to them than the same gameplay
there's no story, there's no deeper customization, there's no unique style in how one person can play a character differently than the other person; almost every hero shooter is the exact same formula from what team fortress first put out, and then blizzard refined with OverWatch
I would be more interested in a hero shooter if it was PvE/vP , like with what Capcom tried to do with ExoPrimal
I think people are tired of competitive games, and they want more cooperative experiences that they can play with their friends, and they are fighting a common enemy that they can build strategies against, rather than some no lifer who understands the frame data, and you can't actually get better against because you don't have the time
I was thinking the same thing, but phrased it differently. They all have these really elaborate cutscenes and trailers to make it seem like you're going to be introduced in a novel, to end up just being "escort this across the map" "secure these 3 points" better learn the meta quick *yawn*
Exactly, none of them offer customization and varied content. That is why Overatch 2 canceling PVE pissed so many people off. It was offering an actual interesting mode with talent trees, choosable skills etc and they couldn't get it to work somehow? The characters and mechanics already work well for these skews but they're doing nothing with them. Give Genji chaining shurikens or Forking when hitting enemies for clearing hordes of mobs, add status ailments, gear, progression. I don't believe they couldn't make it work.
So strange, I imagined that hero shooters are a bad investment..but their not? Companies are just making a bunch.

Bloodborne is like Mad Max Fury Road. A lot of people really fucking love it and will not stop talking about why they love it. They will show the legitimately amazing things it does and flaunt it. However to people that either enjoy in a more leveled way or have no interest in it, the overwhelming level, seemingly impossible level of quality it's been placed on can be off putting to some. So then they go "it's overrated".
I love Bloodborne and I think it's one of the best games FromSoft has made, but I don't view it personally as like the pinnacle of all gaming like some do. I feel there's legit issues with the game (not performance wise) that people seem to ignore.
It reminds me a lot of my relationship with Undertale. I remember when that game was a goddamn Phenomenon! Buuuut, I didn't play it then. Hearing people scream from the mountain tops that the game is essentially the second coming of christ, became really grating. So I've no interest in playing it ironically. The people recommending it too forcefully put me off of wanting to try it.

Unlike worlds, Monster hunter wilds is FULLY open world. Worlds was just very small ish/medium world. kind of like dragonage; I, where it's just semi small maps where this game will be fully open world. probably more along the lines of ME:A, where the semi open world was liek 10x the sie of Dragon age: I

Xbox has gotten a LOT more heat for it because of the hypocrisy present in their messaging and the high level of scrutiny from the ABK merger

If your not a fan of the switch weapons for blood born then the game just isnet fun to play. I love dark souls games and being abile to choose my play style. You dont get that in blood born. So for me... Blood born isent as good as the dark souls games. Same with that Sekiro, if your not a fan of the parry system well your kind of out of luck. Big difference between blood born and Sekiro is that the blood born style is WAAAAAAAAY better and the world is fantastic. Just wish i liked the gameplay, but i dont.

@@BlackTone91 Plenty of people that have deleted the overlay file from Ghost of tsushima and it runs better. Alot of ppl also have gotten crashes everytime they got a trophy. So something with the overlay isn't working properly
