A miniature horse in training to be a blind man scared of dogs could be Britain’s smartest steed - as he can already cross roads, find post boxes and activate traffic lights.
Two-year-old Digby, a two foot tall American miniature horse from Northallerton, Yorks, has spent the last year training to become the UK’s first guide horse.
Once fully trained, he will begin living with dog-phobic Mohammed Salim Patel, from Blackburn, Lancs, and assisting him with day-to-day tasks just like a guide dog would.
Mohammed, 24, a planning producer with the BBC, has degenerative eye condition retinitis pigmentosa, a condition which has since made him virtually blind.
