Hi, so I (20F) am graduating in a couple of days. Traditionally, kids invite their parents to their graduation ceremony, but I decided to invite my uncle and my aunt. And I have my reasons for it, it’s because they were the ones who took over and paid for all my expenses while I was in college because my parents said that they couldn’t afford to do that. When I was in high school, my parents had had a discussion with me and they told me that they were saving up for retirement and they had a future aside from me as well, so they expected me to take care of my own college tuition and other expenses because I was also turning 18 and now that I was an adult, I had to be able to take care of myself.
