Great to see you again and congrats on the launch of SA! 🍾 🎉 I'd like to see a video giving an overview of Bulgarian - or, alternatively, of the Slavic family and how it compares to Germanic and Romance languages. Another interesting topic might be the Balkan Sprachbund - even if it's just covering aspects of Bulgarian and Greek in this regard.
I'm interested in modern, practical approaches to language learning. I've been helped enormously by Steve Kaufman's understanding, which helps individuals avoid becoming stuck in trying to build language familiarity through structural analysis alone. In practice I think that means having fun with a language. What I want is an online friend who enjoys learning languages and who has taken the time to deconstruct and demystify aspects of their own learning process, while also acknowledging the mystery and joy of why we're bothering to learn a language in the first place. Inspiration, hints, tricks, encouragement for the organic, real life experience of learning a language. I'd like to hear technical instruction as an expression of that fun, rather than as an unnatural, joyless venture, baiting you with the promise of fun in some distant future state of fluency which never arrives.
I mention this in the video as well, but I paused it. I started learning Russian and Persian and then stopped due to the intense demands of starting my own business. However, I think I might pick up Russian again soon. The reason is that yes, I don't have the time to start a language from scratch right now, but Russian is not just any language. I already understand ~80% of spoken Russian due to being Slavic, so I think it will not require too much of my energy, even at this intense moment of my career. So there has been almost no progress, but I think I will just pick up a non-fiction book in Russian and start learning that way. There's a reason I never went for the Slavic languages in the past - they seemed too easy and not exciting at all (coming from a Bulgarian). However, now with my limited time and energy, I think a Slavic language might be the best fit lol. What's your native language? What resources have you chosen for Russian yourself?
Hi, my native language is English and Russian would be my first additional language, I think it will be a real struggle! Im using the LingQ app and Olly Richards story learning course before eventually getting a teacher. Ive spent time in Russia and really love the sound of the language, the Russian culture and people. I would love to make some real progress before I return to Moscow. I wish you the best of luck with your next language and your business.

It's nice to see you return. Have you ever considered giving Japanese a try?
Yes, I have! Once I start exploring Asian languages, Japanese will be the first. For some reason, I want to try it before others. Not sure why.
@@PolyglotSecrets That's great! Some day when you do, be sure to give Kanji Puzzle a try to see if it's helpful at all!
Hi, how did you get on with learning Russian? Im about to start myself.
