@TheProvidentPrepper I recently decided to move into a travel trailer, and in case of a power outage, things like the lanterns would be great instead of candles. Great to pair with a electric solar generator

Thank you! For those things with batteries, attach the batteries to the outside of the object with a rubber band or tape. Handy and ready to go. 🙂

I just got back from a driving trip out of state & I keep one like the “PUC Expandable Lantern” in my overnight bag. I used it the most to have turned on next to my bed when the light switch was across the room. No stubbed toes on this trip from walking across room to turn off switch & walk back to bed in the dark 🥳

    Great info.
As a County Emergency manager, I am all about redundancy. You have great info.
I recommend yard solar lights. Use them around the yard. But you can easily gather them and spread around the house. Good solar flood lights can be aimed up to illuminate the ceiling and light up a whole room.
With that said, have battery or rechargeable back up options if you get overcast days that might recharge your solar lights.

“Don’t buy Junk” I agree. When I’m in an emergency, the last thing I need is a low quality item.

Has anyone used the PUC by magnetically attaching to interior of auto or truck where the light can shine on it all the time, so it is ready to go at anytime? Will it fall off and make a rattling noise? My son and I just bearly missed getting stuck on I64 Christmas Eve with a bunch of other folks well past Christmas. I think it was 2004. Not really sure. I don’t remember now the exact number of days those people were stuck out on the Interstate. Many people walked well over a mile through deep snowy fields to visible farm houses. We just made to Evansville, IN by taking a treacherous exit off I64. It was a curved road and not fun to drive in good weather. We were headed to the Mall for some Christmas Eve shopping! When arrived at the mall they closed early 10 minutes after we got there. Almost didn’t make it home, on our alternate route. Made a huge impact on me with what to keep in the cars and trucks. Sometimes a small emergency can turn into a large emergency. I share this because “stuff” happens.

After the 12 day storm/power outage we had in Nicaragua I can confidently say that these solar lights were completely useless. We went back to hand cranked rechargeable models that you can recharge at any time. These will let you down when the SHTF. Just my experience.

Kylene I am new to your channel. I watched one of your video that said you are gluten intolerant. My daughter found out recently that she is too. Help. As her mama I know she needs to eat better but works two jobs now and doesn’t have the time to cook. If I can sent her to a place to look for good things to eat and ways to cook I feel she will have a better chance to make this work. What can I do ???

I love those solar lights. I have motion sensor solar yard lights. I had one that the motion sensor went out so as an experiment I put the solar panel facing south outside and strung the very small wire through a crack in my door and put the light inside. The lights have an on off switch. Not too long after that my power went down and I tried it out and it lit up the house almost better than the regular lights. I have now put a motion sensor light in all my outbuildings with the panel outside on the south side and the light inside. So when I go into the sheds the light automatically comes on. I also found a flashlight for my car that I keep on the dash that is solar powered. My house is powered on all solar and propane too but I can tell you that sometimes that power can go down like the grid. I know I have light when that happens so we can see to fix any problem. I do want to get some of the smaller lights that you demonstrated in this video. Oh who would have believed that light shone into the camera could trigger a migraine. I just found out that it can. Please don't shine lights into the camera!

Hi Kylene, I just bought the expandable lantern that you like to travel with. Yesterday I put it in full southern facing sun for 8 hours. Then I tried to charge my iPhone 7. It only got it to 24% then the light was dead and stopped charging. The same thing happened again today. Just thought I’d check with you to make sure I’m doing it right?
