When they do the knife photo shoot for the catalog. This one needs to be placed on a mirrorr with a sliced open bag of coke next to it and a little bump of coke on the tip of the knife. That seems very fitting for the blade shape.
The Fact is so so so addictive. I open this thing at least 100x a day. Very fun knife. So light and small as an edc knife. It can also protect you if need be.
How do you manage to be so entertaining and so comprehensive at the same time!? I really hope you continue to make videos, but you do you.. I'm a huge fan!
I realize that I'm three years late to the party, but this review helped a lot. I'm not really a knife person by any means, but I'm working at a place where I can get a pretty hefty discount on benchmade specifically. I've wanted a better, more simple knife than the bulky multi tools I seem to carry, and this seems to be my kinda speed. but, I'm glad to have the gaps in my knowledge filled in a bit.
That is a lovely stabby stabby shank. I wonder if my mate bubba would like one for father's day? I guess it might be hard to get it delivered to his big house though. All in all, I do like this design.
The Kershaw/AL Mar AM-4 colab kmife would also be a comparable budget option. Ive carried one for a long while now & its nice for the price. Kind of like the Fact & the Al Mar Talon had a little Kershaw baby. Lol
Does anyone remember that yellow pages tv ad that put "Not happy, Jan!" Into the local vernacular? That flashed back when Pete was practicing his ice pick grip shanking on the most commonly repurposed book in Australia.
Great review Pete! Another strong competitor in that class is Kershaw's Al Mar variant - the AM-4. It doesn't include the premium powdered steel, but my version in all black with highly polished G10 scales and red standoffs is flat-out sexy. But here's the real kicker - @ $36 it's 20% the cost of the Benchmade.
The pivot bearing area seems to be tiny (judging by the distance of the pivot axis to the axis lock being just a few millimeters), especially for the blade length (lever forces!). Don't think it'll hold up well over time or under any stress. Little opening friction but no load bearing capability. Fact?
Great knife, love my black version. I’ve never even come close to having something that was in my pocket keep my knife from locking open! For something like that to happen you must have pockets that haven’t been cleaned out in 10 years. Just my thoughts...
Nice design, which I'd buy if actually G10. Finish wears off in no time from high points, cold in the outdoors, and overly aggressive on pockets with this texture.
Hey brother, I really enjoy watching your vids and learn alot of info from them as well but I have a kind of a request if at all possible- I own quite a few $100-$250 knives and a couple of my recent purchases are a benchmade 535 bugout (sharpest factory edge I've ever felt) and a cold steel Pendleton hunter in cpm 3v also a Kershaw m390 I would love to see the performance test of a benchmade bugout with factory edge and also your worksharp edge!!! After stropping mine the S30V seems a bit soft or easy to roll the burr but it is still one of my favorites I just dont want to use it for fear of loosing that extremely sharp edge so I carry and use other knives.... your test would prove if itd hold it well and ease of resharpening with the worksharp
A little too pointy to be truly useful. However it is thin. Have you reviewed the: Benchmade Valet AXIS Lock Knife Gray G-10 (2.96" Satin) 485? A very fine knife.
The omega springs will last forever if you don't use it as a fidget knive. I think fidget opening and closing heats up the springs and makes it more prone to failure. At least that's been my experience.
I wish they would offer more folders with G10 scales. With Al handles the anodized finish wears and affects the appearance negatively. Just my opinion.
Nice video if got a question how tough is niolox compared to d2 and cpm 3v in terms of break resistens by bending and break resistens by shock (batoning) thank you l.p.
This knife make sense if you want a self defense knife that can flex into utility work but if you are really concerned about self defense you are much better with Benchmade SOCP dagger with the Nite Ize Eclipse mod shown in the PreparedMind101 channel. I am assuming of course that if you are thinking about carrying this knife for self defense you can carry a fixed blade around your area.
I like my dagger-style knives, including my Fact, very much. I rarely use them, but for some reason I would never sell them. Go figure. I have 3 Cold Steel Ti-Lites, including the blue titanium handle one with the mirror-finish blade. All of them were impulse buys at knife stores. I would never buy one just seeing it online or in a catalog. For me, the opening and closing of these knives is critical, and I had to work on most of the Ti-lites to get them to suit me in this respect. The Fact is close to perfect with the axis lock. It's just that you have to stab yourself in the wallet region to get one.
Fact: I just bought one in BK finish. Update: the knife has an off centered blade. Fact: I'm returning it for a refund. Fact: may or may not replace it.
The gates foundation has helped, but the eradication of polio was started, funded, and largely accomplished by Rotary International. Rotary first started fighting polio in 1979 and the gates foundation has just recently started donating funds to Rotary to help.
Great production value as always but it seems you took it up a notch this time around. A tad stabby however its not quite a knock against this guy almost puts it apart from their models. Great review here Pete.
I would like the blade a lot better if the spine was on the back, not in the middle , It would also make the blade a better slicer. At $180.00 , I'm not buying it anyways
You could wad up one of those old switchblades in your hands without trying hard ! The fact is a far better knife than one of those westside story knives ( wait that was the butterfly knife also crap ) The axis lock is far stronger than a crap liner locks that pop (unlock) under slight pressure ( 34 lbs for suckbenza ) ! Liner locks should only be used on small knives ! But that's about all the fact has going for it ! I pay more money for more quality ( coming with lose screws or completely un-finished like my crooked river is a rip off ) benchmades quality control bliws goats and their anti gun activities and stipid high prices for no reason ( like quality ) but greed ! Get the clone . the pivot was slightly over tight and the lock springs way to hard ( they have to do that to sell in some countries ) ! I would pay up to $50.00 for the real one !
The steel doesn't matter no one is going to use it for anything that would require a so called super steel ( which are really just reinventions of old steels with powdered steels )!
I still don't get why knife reviewers like to have their pocket lint added to their food. A standard parring knife costs nothing, is in 99% of cases better, and you don't even need to sharpen it, because once it's dull, do it like with girlfriends, toss it out.
The omega springs will last forever if you don't use it as a fidget knive. I think fidget opening and closing heats up the springs and makes it more prone to failure. At least that's been my experience.
Fact: handles are aluminum not g10
Naddir Saad holy shit, so they are! just scratched a bit off and sure enough they are
lol said the same thing to myself
They should make a G-10 variant. CF would be so light it would disappear. luls
Nice video. Subd.
Naddir Saad They have nice G10 clone version on DHGate for $20. D2 steel and quality.
I love the feel of the aluminum handles, handles superbly!
I've used this knife for everything from cutting floor stick planks to shaving wood. It can do a lot
You are the dark horse. No more breaks. Benchmade sees you. We see you. Become a review god. Become a one-bladed angel.
How do you manage to be so entertaining and so comprehensive at the same time!? I really hope you continue to make videos, but you do you.. I'm a huge fan!
Great review. Still one of my top Benchmades.
Same here, Bro
Advanced Knife Bro if I ask really nice will you review contego?
Top notch videos, personality, production and humor. Good stuff
Never seen your videos, /already bought the knife. The fact you mentioned that they DIDNT pay you for the knife, earned respect and my like.
Love the random stuff you throw in, hillarious

Love my 417 Fact, I put a set of carbon fiber scales from Rouge Blaldeworks on mine and love it even more!
Became my edc as soon as I got it. Love the thin profile. You didn't mention the deep carry pocket clip. Excellent retention. One cool blade.
nice knife, I love the no nonsense approach of Benchmade
Looks like one of those knives that the British WWII commandos (amongst others) are reputed to have used. Although those were I believe fixed blades.
I do like this a lot, it definitely has a "smile factor" about it.
Highly educational factual video.
love the ff13 barthandelus music😂
Oh no! Nick Shabazz quality puns in the wrap up? LOL! XD
Few knives make a 940 look beefy. Hope for a mini-fact.
Wow. You were on your game today. One of your best videos in a while.
...but you did forget the handles were aluminum. I'll have to deduct points. ;)
Pretty cool that it’s labeled as a prototype, makes its more unique!
That is a lovely stabby stabby shank. I wonder if my mate bubba would like one for father's day? I guess it might be hard to get it delivered to his big house though. All in all, I do like this design.
Wonderful review. Really like your style.
I like it.. It's a nice design..I'm big on narrow knives like the BM 940..
The Kershaw/AL Mar AM-4 colab kmife would also be a comparable budget option. Ive carried one for a long while now & its nice for the price. Kind of like the Fact & the Al Mar Talon had a little Kershaw baby. Lol

What type of greens should I feed my Chocobo?
Fact: That intro was abso-fucking-lutely amazing. That is a fact.
That was an ending pun worthy of Nick Shabazz

Don't think it'll hold up well over time or under any stress. Little opening friction but no load bearing capability. Fact?
You should do a video about your favorite steel. Like a bracket type thing. Playoffs semi finals finals championship!
I think I like this more than the "SOCP folder"
Great knife, love my black version. I’ve never even come close to having something that was in my pocket keep my knife from locking open! For something like that to happen you must have pockets that haven’t been cleaned out in 10 years. Just my thoughts...

The windowed scales make me think of a fingertip circumcision guillotine. Kinda gives me the hee-bee jee-bees. ***shiver***
Nice review of this knife. Very cool.

ALWAYS LOVE the music in your Vids ♥️ 👍 😎
Is that really the G-10 version? it looks like the aluminium version scales.
You test it for edge retention against any Baseball Furies or Rouges??
I wish they would offer more folders with G10 scales. With Al handles the anodized finish wears and affects the appearance negatively. Just my opinion.
Hi there, Nice review. But what is that music during the size comparison? Thank you.
It's an orchestral version of the prologue theme from final fantasy iv
I have one , but mine has aluminum handle. Is mine fake? Great video as always
Nice video if got a question how tough is niolox compared to d2 and cpm 3v in terms of break resistens by bending and break resistens by shock (batoning) thank you l.p.

What is a price that brief opener?
9:33 :000 thanks, better buy that spring open ganzo
By George I think I like it but its stabby,well you don't use it I will.good day from us.stay knife safe.atb paddy😀👍☘
Fact, its overpriced, its ok though watching knife reviews is my hobby.
Shame on you Benchmade....shame on you.
I like my dagger-style knives, including my Fact, very much. I rarely use them, but for some reason I would never sell them. Go figure. Hmm, but I might want to pry a car bonnet off... pass. Btw nice editing, and that surface for the side by side comparisons looks great.
I thought it had aluminium/aluminum scales?
haha, yeah my bad, I’m a little rusty. Ive just changed the title and pinned a similar comment
Stab that pesky fly.
that's some knife ninja level stuff!
Got the clone ( g10 scales ) for $28.00 ! And thats how much it's really worth ! $40.00 in America !
I like it but I would take a Cold Steel Ti-Lite anyday.
Good video, not the knife for me, but good video.
Great production value as always but it seems you took it up a notch this time around. A tad stabby however its not quite a knock against this guy almost puts it apart from their models. Great review here Pete.
2:50 that poor woman #demonetized
With so much fake news floating around these days it's nice to see a youtube channel that reports and talks about the real Facts.
No such thing as an illegal knife in Texas😁 BRING IT ON #taxrefund
If you have several Facts, then you have truth.
Dat hair!
Give me that salami and cheese
I would like the blade a lot better if the spine was on the back, not in the middle , It would also make the blade a better slicer. At $180.00 , I'm not buying it anyways
You might want to Fact check yourself mate, the scales are aluminum not G10. Great review though anyway!
Not my style but still a cool knife
The scales are aluminum.
Make it 75-85% percent of the size, and a sheepsfoot/wharncliffe with a higher grind, and I'd be all over it.
Rodrigo Teresa So make it into a different knife?
Just can't justify buying most benchmades at that price. Better off buying Spyderco or ZT.
Very Al Mar "ish"
Edit: Nvm you said it already 😂
Chris Rinehart Yeah, I an definitely happy for more Mar-like designs
The handles are aluminium? Is that a MATTER of FACT?
Good grief that's stabby. Which is not a bad thing, but.
170 usd that’s overpriced 🦋 tax
Have you seen the price of Spydercos? They're as expensive if not more. Para 2 is $240
You could wad up one of those old switchblades in your hands without trying hard ! The fact is a far better knife than one of those westside story knives ( wait that was the butterfly knife also crap )

Please hold Basil up next to knife for size comparison next time. Cheers!
Fact : Your dogs look bigger.
I like stiletto blade profiles, but unfortunately it's a Benchmade. And I am definitely not a BM fan.
Great job as always on the review though.
I not like the fact lol
Here's a fact: you need an apostrophe in "Handles" to make the pun in the title of your video grammatically correct.
Good God it's ugly
But can you EDC your cat?
magic I would need an apparatus os sorts, to be sure
The omega springs will last forever if you don't use it as a fidget knive. I think fidget opening and closing heats up the springs and makes it more prone to failure. At least that's been my experience.
i guess you need a bit more friction to actually heat up the springs, otherwise leaving the knife in the sun would kill it too.
