I think the fake crowd noise is hokey. It' interesting to hear the sounds of the game in an echoing stadium. Does anybody agree?
I was watching the Mariners @ HOU, and it seemed like they only had "game 7 walk-off" crowd noise that they would just raise or lower, you couldn't ignore how fake it sounded. BUT, I watched the game @ Nats park the next day and they seemed to actually have someone working a soundboard with a bunch of applicable reactions, it was a lot less jarring and blended in a lot better. I do agree about hearing more player/gameplay sounds, the Nats game had a pretty good balance between that and the crowd noise. Still wish all this BS was over though.
I don't find it hokey so much as the equivalent to someone like me that can't sleep without a fan on. It's the calming and familiar white noise that keeps things from being stale and awkward. I get your opinion, though.

@@MLB Do you guys think it feels really weird having the players and managers be there by themselves without a roaring cheer of the crowds? It probably must feel uncomfortable as an employee to actually sit on the front row bleachers or something without fans trying to shove you or catch the ball, no snack guys, nothing.

I love the fact there is no crowd. I imagine that all these guys who many idolize or even worship, feel like they did growing up, as just boys playing baseball. No other motives except to play ball. Its like little league, playing in stadiums filled only with your parents, or even with no one at all. Its a true return to baseball in its pure and simplest form. Just beautiful.

It's just really sad that no fans can go to games. Every summer my family has a tradition to go to baseball games and we cant do that this year. But I have to be thankful that they are playing the game.
