Absolutely!! Nice long slow disciplined drives that end in a touchdown and beat up the defense, exhausting them, forcing the Ravens to play fast to keep up. By the end of the game, if it’s still close, the Ravens defense will have been on the field all game and they’ll be exhausted, so that gives the Bills a better opportunity to win a shootout!
27:55 The Bills need to use a creatively modified version of what they used against the Broncos. I feel as if it was a practice run for the Ravens offense. Defenders would run a scheme where they blitz if the offensive player blocks, and drop into coverage if they run a route, but also had a spy like Matt Milano who would only blitz and creep up when he saw the QB running with it. That’s how he got a nice sack on Nix. I really want to see Milano and Terrel Bernard work together, employing run blitzes to slow down Henry before he gets that massive body up to top speed, and cover Jackson on the outside if he decides to keep it himself and zip around. At the same time, I want to see some creative work with Von Miller. Miller has been really good against the run this year, so maybe even getting him involved more would be good. I am interested to see what the defense can do. I just hope that we can get through this game injury free. I’ve said it all season long, but the Bills have what it takes to win the Super Bowl, but they’ll need to be at full strength to do it. We’re already down Ray Davis, and will inevitably get banged up against the Ravens. Let’s just beat them before they get a chance to make this a game. Hit em hard hit em early hit em often.

I was very impressed by how balanced the performance was against the Broncos. O-line, receivers, RBs, d-line, linebackers, DBs, and of course 17... Every unit played well at minimum, even very well.
You guys got most of them, but missed a couple, and of course, the national media has no clue it was even a problem...6 Buffalo starters missed Week 4, and they ALL play in the middle. Missing: Both D Tackles Both Linebackers Nickel Back Free Safety Along with the remaining safety, that's literally all the guys who key on stopping the run game. On offense we didn't have Cooper yet, and Brady wasn't using the full play book. I still don't know that the Bills can win on Sunday, but it should be a VERY different game from Week 4, and the Bills can absolutely win it.
The Bills scored 10 pts vs a bad Ravens defense at the time. Injuries are a part of the game. All those injuries were on the defensive side. Ravens averaged 30 pts for the season.
@derekrice5203 they weren't all on the defensive side, Shakir got hurt in the 1st qtr, they didn't have Cooper yet & Kincaid was playing hobbled, the rookie has also seen a full season now, no Oliver Milano Bernard Miller Johnson Phillips or Jefferson on D, Rapp also got hurt early in that game.. it won't be anything close to the week 4 game

While I think the Bills have no argument against the Ravens when it comes to talking softness of schedule or division, I do think this will be a great contest and that both teams are not the same as in the earlier meeting. That + the fact that it's a home game for Buffalo should make this very interesting indeed. May the best team win!
Dan couldnt be more wrong on comparing Josh and Lamar runs. Lamar runs for first downs (362 vs Allen's 339), and Josh runs for TDs (65 rush tds vs. Lamar's 33) Allen has had more rush tds every season of both of their careers, and even if you remove the "tush push" style rushes this hold true
I agree but only because Josh runs really stupid. Lamar plays it safe with a few exceptions like vs the Steelers. Lamar has been told he's a RB for so long that he could have a sea of green in front of him and he will throw the ball into double coverage. Good thing is he has the arm and accuracy to do so and it not backfire. He only runs if the play breaks down or nobody is open and he only runs to the sticks. You are so right. But if he tried to run to the house he no doubt would be better at it than Josh because he is faster and more agile.

Two things can be true, Lamar is the most talented runner of the ball at the QB position we've ever seen, and Allen is a better runner of the Football in when the coverage tightens up closer to the Endzone. Allen is a more effective Rusher when it comes to getting TDs and Lamar is better at getting huge chunks of yards, that's not a knock on either guy. Lamar definitely has the home run ability that no other QB can duplicate, but its potential not performance

Both win in different ways and neither is better or worse or smarter or stupider. Zippy guys infuriate a team because they can’t be stopped as you can’t catch them, powerful guys run you over and demoralize you because they cannot be stopped because they plow through you.

That game was far from a throttling. First, that run on the 1st drive by Henry likely foes not happen with Taron, Milano, & Bernard in the game. 2nd, we were driving with momentum, having just scored and forced a punt, when Brady made that goofy call at midfield. Had we just kept going instead of getting cute and scored on that drive, it's 21-17 and Bsltimore is thinking about another 2nd half collapse. Instead, Bal gets a short field and go up 28-10 and that's that. 2 plays. The Henry run, and the reverse pass. Not to mention, that game w/ the Hou game were the 2 games that showed us we needed to do something different vs good man coverage teams. They have made major changes stylistically vs man coverage, acquired Cooper, released MVS, and we will have Shakir for this game. Big difference in this game vs October.

@@Wombat3000 dude The Ravens don't play in LA or Florida or even South Carolina. You start to feel that mountain cold in North Carolina and the water effect cold in Maryland. The Ravens literally play next to the Chesapeake Bay. Buffalo isn't the only place it snows and the Ravens lead in amount of late games the last few years.
I remember when the Ravens used to care. Now it's like meh. We double dip after half or we score first and stop the opponents from scoring their first drive and go up two scores because we have the defense and offense to do both now. Didn't have the defense our first matchup and still got it done.

Yep. Von Miller has been downright good this year. They are ramping him up and he’s playing well. People bashing him and the defense just don’t really know much about defensive football. It’s really complicated so most people don’t, but those who don’t really need to stop with the big negative takes. Just say you didn’t feel it as much rather than emphatically declaring that they were this or that. The defense got lots of pressure and only let the Broncos score SEVEN POINTS!! They were really good.
Okay, I’ve gotta say, I don’t like a lot of Dans takes recently. Ragging on the Bills D-line after the big win wasn’t cool, they put the most pressure on Nix of any team, getting a couple of sacks and constantly disrupted him. The D-line has been good, and Von Miller has been playing very well. The take on wide receivers was also really rough. The game against the Broncos was not a wide receiver sort of game. The Broncos had the best defense in the league, with outstanding corners and blitzes. In order to beat the blitz, it’s important to get the ball out fast, usually to tight ends and running backs. The running backs and tight ends got the ball, and the receivers didn’t need to do much. The Ravens have had a leaky secondary, so this week will likely call for some more receiver action. That’s how everybody eats works, the right part of a diverse group steps up, with a surprise thrown in, such as Curtis Samuel this past game. I love the channel and the show, I just think that it would be good to watch some game footage. Locked on Bills does a really good All-22 Review episode after every game which breaks it down. It’s a really good resource. It will just help some of those takes, the ones that seem to make sense when you say them but after actually studying the nuances and details of the game, turn out to be a bit wonky. You guys all know your stuff, it’s just that the Bills game plan hides strategies that aren’t readily apparent unless you really study every detail of the game closely. So all22 to put out a great video that cross examined the Baltimore v Buffalo game, essentially, they were moments where Buffalo had a -750 pound weight differential on the field. On top of that they’re small and they don’t blitz often. The defense has been essentially coasting on Josh getting up on opponents and forcing them to pass which you tend to be able to do against lesser opponents. As for the wide receiver play, Buffalo has definitely shown some growth. My concern is that offensive coordinator getting nervous and calling stupid trick plays.
@@christopherhaynes8101 Joe Brady is no shmuck. He learned his lesson the first time around not to call trick plays. He knows the Ravens weaknesses and how to exploit them, and the offense hasn’t really gone long games with no momentum in a while thanks to his play calling of plays that the team enjoys. I believe that they will be able to score points, thanks to their very diverse set of capable pass catchers and great decision making by Allen. The defense is better than you give them credit for scheme wise. They aren’t coasting on the offense, but they aren’t as capable as the offense. They rely on taking away what the opposing offense does best and using their skill players to throw them off balance, leading to mistakes that force them to punt or lead to a turnover. That is a masterful strategist in Sean McDermott’s handy work. Remember, this is still a rebuild year, so the defense, while capable, isn’t able to fully shut down teams all the time. As long as the offense scores more times than the other team does, however, that shouldn’t matter. Key is to put the Ravens in a hole and never let them establish any rhythm.
Nearly every game I’m really annoyed by the number of pre snap penalties! Most games it doesn’t end up mattering but the games coming up it will matter and they’re shooting themselves in the foot and killing drives!

They should seriously conduder selling out to stop the run and force Lamar to throw it on the road in the noise. 3 linebackers on 1st and 2nd down should seriously be considered. I know Lamar has been a much better passer this year, but there's a reason they only threw it 21 times against the Steelers. I say sell out to stop the run.
This is the game where they need to use a third LB (Dorian Williams) at times like short yardage. Otherwise, their 4-2-5 scheme could get run over by Henry and Jackson and their 300 pound blocking FB Ricard.
As a Ravens fans, enjoy your realistic take on the matchup. One thing you didn’t address is Ravens were 7-3 vs playoff teams. Buffalo 2-3. Playoffs are a new season but the strength of schedule during the regular season was very different. If Ravens loose Definitly pulling for the Bills getting their first SB.
We had 53% pressure rate yesterday. Yea we didnt get the sacks but we still had the pressure. Im not too worried about this game, long as our offense keeps playing the way it has been and our defense does what they need to do in key spots
Pressure is irrelevant against top 5 QBs. Wink Martendale specialized in that and found his way into college football because of it. He lead the leave in pressures and didn't believe in sacks. Have to get the sacks against Lamar or you screwed yourself especially if you blitzed.
Use Bernard and Milano as spies. One for Henry one for Jackson. Let the D line use a cage rush and contain the pocket. Make Lamar beat you with his arm. Take the run completely away from Baltimore. If Buffalo can do those things, and do them well, and the crowd can be loud enough to disrupt Baltimores audibles. As a Ravens fan I dont remember the Josh Norman play at all. All i remember is Earl Thomas infamously being double stiff armed and turned around when ET was a Raven. I haven't seen to many Ravens get owned and getting out physicaled because those guys cant play with us. But then again thats why ET got replaced immediately after that game.
Last year Lamar had a better seed , Allen had much better stats . Allen had to win the last 5 games to get into playoffs , and Lamar won mvp . this year Allen has better seed. Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant. 2 very similar careers, played in the same conference. Not quite “rivals” but adversaries nonetheless. Duncan was less “exciting and flashy” but got the job done kinda scrappy and rudimentary. Kobe was obviously the crowd favorite, more electric play style. I think Josh is Duncan, and Lamar is Kobe
If we can run the ball & keep moving the chains & controlling possession, we will likely win. I almost don't care what happens on D at that point because for as much as they give up, they're almost always good for one or two big stops, and that may be all the edge our O needs. We definitely need to mix in the passing game and limit hits on Josh, who will be going as hard as he can in this one. This is NOT a call-out, just saying for this game we need to win in the trenches on both sides, we need our O line to play better than they ever have, we need Ed Oliver and especially Daquan Jones to show up, need strong contain on Jackson. Josh would not have more rushing years than Lamar, as it is not the goal for hum to run. His are used sparingly. Lamar should not have to with Henry in the background, but seems to have it more a part of his game whether, his choice or teams way of play.
Honestly, I am doubtful about this weekend. Searching for hope but I’m having a hard time being positive about this game against the Ravens. I know Bills are bad ass and are a great team but I am more confident against KC than Baltimore. We’re built to beat KC more than the Ravens imo. Cmon Bills! Let’s get it!

@@mikepannucio2315 I can see it both ways. The colder it is the more it hurts to hit and Henry is already hard to hit. Henry is slow period out of the blocks but of the Ravens block right which they normally do and always do against small D lineman Henry will have free space to wrecking ball and stiff arm his way to his top speed. Speed don't matter with Henry that's not his game. He and the Ravens beat and abuse you until your tired and by the 4th quarter your too banged up to stop him at all.

Everyone is saying Pitt is better then Denver but Denver had the better defense top 10 and we hung a 24 points diff on them ravens had a 14 point diff bills looked better in the playoffs so far

@ All teams are comprised of players who get paid…..playing 3 NFL games in 11 days is a tough task. I laugh at the annual schedule Buffalo has gotten due to the fact that your division is horrible!
Rare 50+ pass play? We had 6 this year. That was the 3rd most. Goff had the most with 8. Had that counted as our 17th game, simce Allen didnt play week 18, it wouldve been our 7th, which is 2nd most. 50+ yards passes were not rare for us this year. Allen also had the 6th most 40+, 4th most 30+, and 6th most 20+ yard passing plays.
That’s not how “Vegas” works. It’s an algorithm based off of how people bet. Sure they have to put an initial number out, but it does not work the way you guys think it does. Which is exactly why sports betting corporations continue to rake in ridiculous amounts of money. Hardly anybody has a clue how it actually works, which is so sad, because it ultimately shows how terrible we are at basic math in this country. I’m so disheartened every time I hear people talk about sports betting because it shows how absolutely clueless people are. We’re such a dumb country, and that really sucks.

What many of you Bills fans don't realize is that the Ravens played the Bengals twice with Joe Burrow and the best passing duo in the NFL (Chase and Higgins). The Ravens had the absolute worst passing defense in the NFL (#32) during both games and the Ravens BEAT THEM TWICE!!!!!!

Love this Buffalo Plus !
I was very impressed by how balanced the performance was against the Broncos. O-line, receivers, RBs, d-line, linebackers, DBs, and of course 17... Every unit played well at minimum, even very well.
The bills defense was embarrassed in week 4 Oliver said it best "we remember " and now we're in our house

I still don't know that the Bills can win on Sunday, but it should be a VERY different game from Week 4, and the Bills can absolutely win it.
The Bills scored 10 pts vs a bad Ravens defense at the time. Injuries are a part of the game. All those injuries were on the defensive side. Ravens averaged 30 pts for the season.

While I think the Bills have no argument against the Ravens when it comes to talking softness of schedule or division, I do think this will be a great contest and that both teams are not the same as in the earlier meeting.

The Ravens have a huge problem to overcome on Sunday - the Josh Allen led offense - good luck with that! The Bills defense is fully staffed, too.

Lamar runs for first downs (362 vs Allen's 339), and Josh runs for TDs (65 rush tds vs. Lamar's 33)
Allen has had more rush tds every season of both of their careers, and even if you remove the "tush push" style rushes this hold true
I agree but only because Josh runs really stupid. Lamar plays it safe with a few exceptions like vs the Steelers. Lamar has been told he's a RB for so long that he could have a sea of green in front of him and he will throw the ball into double coverage. Good thing is he has the arm and accuracy to do so and it not backfire. He only runs if the play breaks down or nobody is open and he only runs to the sticks. You are so right. But if he tried to run to the house he no doubt would be better at it than Josh because he is faster and more agile.

Two things can be true, Lamar is the most talented runner of the ball at the QB position we've ever seen, and Allen is a better runner of the Football in when the coverage tightens up closer to the Endzone. Allen is a more effective Rusher when it comes to getting TDs and Lamar is better at getting huge chunks of yards, that's not a knock on either guy.

That game was far from a throttling. First, that run on the 1st drive by Henry likely foes not happen with Taron, Milano, & Bernard in the game. 2nd, we were driving with momentum, having just scored and forced a punt, when Brady made that goofy call at midfield. Had we just kept going instead of getting cute and scored on that drive, it's 21-17 and Bsltimore is thinking about another 2nd half collapse. Instead, Bal gets a short field and go up 28-10 and that's that. 2 plays. The Henry run, and the reverse pass.
Not to mention, that game w/ the Hou game were the 2 games that showed us we needed to do something different vs good man coverage teams. They have made major changes stylistically vs man coverage, acquired Cooper, released MVS, and we will have Shakir for this game. Big difference in this game vs October.
As Ravens fan I’m excited for the matchup. Hopefully no snow game.

The Ravens literally play next to the Chesapeake Bay. Buffalo isn't the only place it snows and the Ravens lead in amount of late games the last few years.

Yep. Von Miller has been downright good this year. They are ramping him up and he’s playing well. People bashing him and the defense just don’t really know much about defensive football. It’s really complicated so most people don’t, but those who don’t really need to stop with the big negative takes. Just say you didn’t feel it as much rather than emphatically declaring that they were this or that. The defense got lots of pressure and only let the Broncos score SEVEN POINTS!! They were really good.

Okay, I’ve gotta say, I don’t like a lot of Dans takes recently. Ragging on the Bills D-line after the big win wasn’t cool, they put the most pressure on Nix of any team, getting a couple of sacks and constantly disrupted him. The D-line has been good, and Von Miller has been playing very well.
The take on wide receivers was also really rough. The game against the Broncos was not a wide receiver sort of game. The Broncos had the best defense in the league, with outstanding corners and blitzes. In order to beat the blitz, it’s important to get the ball out fast, usually to tight ends and running backs. The running backs and tight ends got the ball, and the receivers didn’t need to do much. The Ravens have had a leaky secondary, so this week will likely call for some more receiver action. That’s how everybody eats works, the right part of a diverse group steps up, with a surprise thrown in, such as Curtis Samuel this past game.
I love the channel and the show, I just think that it would be good to watch some game footage. Locked on Bills does a really good All-22 Review episode after every game which breaks it down. It’s a really good resource. It will just help some of those takes, the ones that seem to make sense when you say them but after actually studying the nuances and details of the game, turn out to be a bit wonky. You guys all know your stuff, it’s just that the Bills game plan hides strategies that aren’t readily apparent unless you really study every detail of the game closely. Love you all, and let’s smoke the Ravens!
So all22 to put out a great video that cross examined the Baltimore v Buffalo game, essentially, they were moments where Buffalo had a -750 pound weight differential on the field. On top of that they’re small and they don’t blitz often. The defense has been essentially coasting on Josh getting up on opponents and forcing them to pass which you tend to be able to do against lesser opponents.
As for the wide receiver play, Buffalo has definitely shown some growth.
My concern is that offensive coordinator getting nervous and calling stupid trick plays.

@@christopherhaynes8101 Joe Brady is no shmuck. He learned his lesson the first time around not to call trick plays. He knows the Ravens weaknesses and how to exploit them, and the offense hasn’t really gone long games with no momentum in a while thanks to his play calling of plays that the team enjoys. I believe that they will be able to score points, thanks to their very diverse set of capable pass catchers and great decision making by Allen.
The defense is better than you give them credit for scheme wise. They aren’t coasting on the offense, but they aren’t as capable as the offense. They rely on taking away what the opposing offense does best and using their skill players to throw them off balance, leading to mistakes that force them to punt or lead to a turnover. That is a masterful strategist in Sean McDermott’s handy work. Remember, this is still a rebuild year, so the defense, while capable, isn’t able to fully shut down teams all the time. As long as the offense scores more times than the other team does, however, that shouldn’t matter. Key is to put the Ravens in a hole and never let them establish any rhythm.
Nearly every game I’m really annoyed by the number of pre snap penalties! Most games it doesn’t end up mattering but the games coming up it will matter and they’re shooting themselves in the foot and killing drives!

This is the game where they need to use a third LB (Dorian Williams) at times like short yardage. Otherwise, their 4-2-5 scheme could get run over by Henry and Jackson and their 300 pound blocking FB Ricard.

Pressure is irrelevant against top 5 QBs. Wink Martendale specialized in that and found his way into college football because of it. He lead the leave in pressures and didn't believe in sacks. Have to get the sacks against Lamar or you screwed yourself especially if you blitzed.

As a Ravens fan I dont remember the Josh Norman play at all. All i remember is Earl Thomas infamously being double stiff armed and turned around when ET was a Raven. I almost don't care what happens on D at that point because for as much as they give up, they're almost always good for one or two big stops, and that may be all the edge our O needs. Josh would not have more rushing years than Lamar, as it is not the goal for hum to run. His are used sparingly. Lamar should not have to with Henry in the background, but seems to have it more a part of his game whether, his choice or teams way of play.

@@mikepannucio2315 I can see it both ways. The colder it is the more it hurts to hit and Henry is already hard to hit. Henry is slow period out of the blocks but of the Ravens block right which they normally do and always do against small D lineman Henry will have free space to wrecking ball and stiff arm his way to his top speed. Speed don't matter with Henry that's not his game. He and the Ravens beat and abuse you until your tired and by the 4th quarter your too banged up to stop him at all.

Rare 50+ pass play? We had 6 this year. That was the 3rd most. Goff had the most with 8. Had that counted as our 17th game, simce Allen didnt play week 18, it wouldve been our 7th, which is 2nd most. 50+ yards passes were not rare for us this year.
