(I just checked the price for Lamy on US Amazon and they are $9-$10 more than Woodies, so for US buyers, it is a better deal for Woodies at this time.) Hannah totally an loyal and ‘art-tentive’ assistant. Very much deserve the other eighteen pencils/colours. Even back then her language and verbal linguistics is the very best in following her family role models around her. Just lifts me to see her beavering away in her world of learning and creativity. I understand what you are saying about double colours. I use to hate that!! But now with my eldest's love of art and my youngest's move of what ever his brother is doing. I have found that I am now grateful for the double colours! 😅

Oooh dearest Marta., what a well needed research and the outcome actually before our eyes showing the mediums at work. Yes I am biased because I use generally the products and mediums I see you use as I see them at work and often left grinning with the finished project for the mediums you use sets everything alight. I love Hannah’s little left hand “ resting ” in the middle of the frame , while she concentrated on adding water the her swatch !! Apart from those few seconds , those little munchkins hands and fingers were in high activity mode !! Loved it !! Xxx great review too Marta xx
I bought like 5 woody's and a sharpener years ago in some old bookstore when I was handlettering a lot. Then my daughter was born and I hadn't had time for handlettering. And when she was 18months old I discovered that she could hold those Woody's really well and she liked drawing with them and I wanted more colours for her. Then I discovered the sharpener that came with the woody's was different to the sharpener I had bought years ago. Fast forward another year and I noticed that the sharpener said 'Lamy'. That is when I discovered that Lamy has these great pencils as well.
And I was today years old that I discovered there are way more brands of these crayonlike pencils thanks to your video 😁

I wondered about these different brands. Do you have caran dache neocolor 2? If so how similar are the stabilo to them?
She made another video with 12 brands, including Neocolor II and Stabilo Woody: th-cam.com/video/qiz1enabsGE/w-d-xo.html
I find that Woody are a bit softer, so they smudge a bit more easily with fingers, pressing too hard can smoosh the tip. It's probably why they need the wooden barrel, otherwise kids would get them all over themselves.
They have 1-5 star permanence ratings, but Stabilo never made it clear what the ratings means in terms of lightfastness, so we have to assume they're not lightfast.
I've had some colors develop wax bloom (black is the worst), I'm not sure if it only happens when they're dissolved, or when left dry as well - I kind stopped using them so much after I discovered it. Marta said she hadn't noticed it, maybe not all colors do it, but my favorite ones do.
I prefer my Neocolors, especially given the range of colors, open stock, slim width, and at least some trust that the colors won't fade if I use them outside of my sketchbooks. You're not missing out on much! ;)

Pack of 12 looks brighter in color. Those looks very nice. When I buy crayons, markers or pencils. Never seen these before. I like buying the bigger sets when I can. 😊

The 36 set could be good for letting two children have their own exact color rather than fighting over who has the pink one etc.. So... it is like getting 2 sets at once.?. Wonder if that would save a parent some money?? Just a thought..

Yay! I bought Woodies when you first demo'd them; so I'm glad they tested best. And the best value for the price. Thanks for comparing because it would have been tempting to buy the cheapest. But Staedtler is way over-priced, banking on their name. Tsk-tsk. You sound like your life is back in order - so happy for you!

I love my Woodies, good to know how they compared. I bought a Marabu in raspberry for a cool red/pink, and I love it so far. It’s more creamy, almost like lipstick, so I just got a couple small sets on Amazon and I’m testing them while I watch. Thanks 🌺
I like this video, I think it is very usefull. I was thinking buying the Woodys from Stabilo because now everybody is talking about them and with futur back to school we can find them in any big shop here in France. But I already have almost all the collection of Neocolor II from Caran d'Ache (brand from Switzerland) and a very talented French lady that I follow on YT and IG (annlizb), who has tested both already, says that if you already have Neocolor II then they are the best and we should not "waste" our money on Woodys, even if she likes them very much also. Did you ever try Neocolor II ? Because I am still tented !!! Thank you very much for your videos. I liked very much also the videos about art journaling with only 5 supplies. Lucile

Just heard the LOL dolls. My neices absolutely love them. But do not get the boy LOL dolls because they have made them too "realistic" my sister said. So Google and be sure it isn't all the newer series for the girls too. The older series are not like that.
