If you ever want to gain access to a restricted building or room all you have to do is bring a big ladder. Just walk up to security, show them the ladder, ask them to get the door for you, and proceed to your desired destination. It's that easy.

I loved this interview. So interesting how she started and where she ended up. I like that she said she’d never go to the dark side. People hacking is the way forward, it’s near impossible to overcome the technical barriers, unless you can hack and I guess that might make it a bit easier. Thank you for sharing this.

Oh she is doing such a good job explaining why we IT people do what we do for security. Unfortunately there will always be those who ignore the security briefings and use Post-its for passwords. But in the end, if you use your company laptop to create stuffy pron with your BF/GF we will find out and will keep copies.

I adore that you have Jenny as a guest. Until you understand the field, you don't fully grasp how easy and widespread this is due to human error via a multiple of factors. Social Engineering is huge and not as understood as we'd like it to be.

    • @VBH8888

It's pretty much the only form of hacking left. Every single data breach in the last 15 years has come down to human error. A weak password or a gullible employee. It's always a human.

I find it really hard to believe that in a private bank where they are obviously aware of security threats that you can just stick a bandage on and get someone to open a biometric lock. I mean I worked in a bank 25 years ago and if someone could not get into the vault area they would be sat down to wait so someone could verify them another way. Also the one in Asia, you do not do recognisance for 1 night and go on then go on a Friday having not observed on a Saturday. I think she is giving you her greatest hits and omitting the times she fkd up

The idea of it seems exciting and entertaining. If you are not on the receiving end you will not know how invasive it feels. And so even with permission it's a job that's really not recommended and even she understands. You never know what ppl need to keep hidden. Some ppl are hiding things for good. And she strongly feels that everyone should use their skills for good.
