  • World Mental Health Day 2020
TW: Please note: throughout this film there is discussion of anxiety, depression, and suicide and mental health.
Our main goal as a dance studio is to promote positive mental health through performing arts & dance, whether it's to our students or to the people watching us perform, we want everyone to know it's ok not to be ok, and it's ok to talk about it and ask help.
Over the past few years we have incorporated mental health in our studio, we have encouraged our students to speak about their feelings and be themselves with no limits or judgement. We have created a safe space for all ages and through that we have achieved so much. Everyone inside our doors is treated like family, and everyone is welcome, all ages, all levels, all abilities!
In these uncertain times, it is more important than ever to look after ourselves, and each other, Help is always available, you are not alone! Reach out & Speak out!
We have waited to share this video on World Mental Health Day as we felt it was more appropriate for today. This video features some of our students sharing their experience with House of Swag and their stories of Mental Health, all spoken 100% from their hearts with no sort of script or practice. I don't want to explain too much and think you should all just watch 😍
This is just the beginning of a bundle of videos we have planned about our students & their stories! also we have a podcast series coming soon too! We are working on so much to impact and speak out about youth mental health at the moment, We just have to keep changing plans and schedules with the guidelines and restrictions in place.
Prioritising mental health has never been more important than it is now. Making simple changes or taking small steps to prioritise our mental health doesn’t need to be complicated or take up loads of time. But it can be hard to know where to start and hopefully this video can help or inspire you from what we do to bring mental health into our daily lives, why not start today? Just simply ask someone how are you? or if you are struggling reach out and speak out, there is always help out there
