  • Chichen Itza was one of the largest Maya cities and it was likely to have been one of the mythical great cities, or Tollans, referred to in later Mesoamerican literature. The city may have had the most diverse population in the Maya world, a factor that could have contributed to the variety of architectural styles at the site.

Very good camerawork and a first class sound engineer. The background music is just that and never drowns the narration.
    Another great video, really enjoyed.
    Thank you so very much.

Would be perfect if the background music be little bit soft, too loud.

In my opinion all ancient pyramids & other megalithic structures found around the world were built as shelters or for a better word bunkers. Very strong structures to protect knowledge, artefacts & usually always natural springs. In our ancient past the earth experienced phases when the weather & other geological conditions where far more severe & unpredictable & our ancestors built megalithic structures like Dolmens, Long Barrows & Pyramids to either protect them-selves, their belongings or in many cases natural water springs all to keep the population alive.
Megalithic structures found all over the world were built exceedingly strong with massive megalithic stones & once again in my opinion, using ancient concreting technology & were not quarried stone in most cases, large stones found on Dolmens, Pyramids & other megalithic sites are just too big to have been moved by our ancient ancestors, instead they were cast in place as concrete or prefabricated blocks using & over millennia one can’t tell the difference between natural stone & pre-formed concrete.
The adverse weather would have been caused when the earth went through periods of meteorite blasts or impacts. Without a very strong structure like these, humans & their livestock would not have survived, everything on the surface, tree's, houses, water sources & food, would have been completely destroyed. As a modern example, see what happened at Chelyabinsk in Russia where an area the size of Belgium was flattened by the blast of an exploding meteorite.
Our ancient ancestors had a remarkable knowledge of astronomy & could predict cycles the earth went through like summer & winter solstices & also if a meteorite could cause problems on earth, all the megalithic structures were built for people to hide & take cover whenever the terror from the skies threatened extinction on earth.

''chiche'' - means, in Serbian language ''old men'' and ''itza'' is a demunitive- suffix! So, it means: OLD SMALL MEN! Serbian calendar is the oldest of the world : year 2019 = 7528 ! The Serbian language is also very old - there are 7 declinations! Some words are very similar to Apache language that was in use in this Mexico region (for exams. ''HORSE'' in Serbian = ''konj'' and I. Apache ''kln''!

Interesting. This also reminds me of the "Little People" of the Celtic and Saxon traditions of England and Ireland.

It was constructed prior to 800 CE and was used as an astronomical observatory, especially of Venus, and perhaps was also a temple to Kukulcan in his guise as the god of the winds.
