Wonderful lecture MashaAllah jazaka Allah....I really liked the point when we should seek counselling when couples are on good terms rather than when there's conflict....same as saying prevention better than cure🙌👍

Alhumdulillah beautiful reminder for marriages of all ages. Sometimes, the problem is that culturally , men do not want to admit they need counseling or see any need for that. They are “perfect “ and women just need to be less emotional in their mindset. No matter how educated, they just do not want to use their 10% special reserve to help their wives. That ultimately leads to the silence or resentment of the opposition especially if the women see this as their best option . For majority of highly educated and independent young women, particularly these days , walking away is easier. Also , the “desi” parents need to stop interfering and having unrealistic demands from their adult married children, unless their counsel is sought. May Allah swt guide us all ... like sheikh said marriage is hard work and Inshaa’Allah for a good reward in dunya and akhira.

Summary of Seven tips from Sunnah for successful marriage:
1. Being busy in self is not excuse, take out time for family
2. Communication with family, i.e start a conversation with spouse to connect with your spouse, don’t force love on spouse, share information and don’t let your family have assumptions about u
3. Learn to activate your 10% of opposite side (meaning when man sees wife upset he should be vulnerable) … man mainly focus on “what/content/task oriented “ so man should focus on “why”
when it comes to connect with wife…. On the other hand woman mainly focus on how/why/context so while communicating with spouse she should focus on “what”.
4. Be flexible meaning don’t make decisions on your spouse’s behalf
5. Criticism should be part of improvement in the house “neutralize criticism and avoid judge mental words like “you did this, blah blah” etc instead say honey I’m upset with this
6. Master apology, learn how to apologize for example if u made mistake accept it and make an effective apology (steps of apology in video starting at 29:00)
7. On the way out home and on the way inside home kiss your spouse … this shows passion that how much spouse missed u

What a beautiful conversation mashallah. I pray that we can all have these amazing marriages based on love and mercy from the Quran and Sunnah! We need to remind ourselves that a happy, healthy relationship creates a happy home, which creates happy children and happy generations!
