      The single greatest achievement of the western world is the understanding of what is acceptable behaviour towards one another and the understanding of the respect we all deserve and that being female or homosexual or having a different belief or a disability does not change the right to respect and dignity.

      @@markleon411 So all belief systems are equally good?

    • @PrincesseKittyKat
      @PrincesseKittyKat ปีที่แล้ว

      @@markleon411 that is not accurately worded; no one is entitled to the level of dignity or respect that they set as a standard for themselves-- this is highly subjective, depending on the person.
      We are All simply entitled (in your choice phrasing "deserve"), to Not be unjustly persecuted for being who we are, so long as we are not harming others.
      Notice the difference.
      The difference being that we cannot, to this day, expect anyone to confer upon us the level of respect or dignity that we feel (subjective) we "deserve". It's simply unrealistic (humans are fallible and unpredictable beings) and as the saying goes: Respect is Earned.

      @@carstenhansen5757 the only good ones are the true ones, but today's world seeks to melt the truth within other "alternative" truths, enticing us all with the "belief" that there can be more than one truth, which is in itself a contradiction.
      In my view not all belief systems are equally good, I don't succumb to that lie either, I'm with you on that regard, but for fairness sake if they are harmless or peaceful, I don't argue with them. Even if I disagree with them.

      @@PrincesseKittyKat Agreed. The aspect of accepting people as they are (which we should), is dripping over to the, we should be accepting belief systems/ideologies as they are. We should not accept all belief systems, because they are not all equal. But people have a hard time distinguishing between the two, because of cultural relativism and because, it's currently main stream to accept people, individuals, as they are.
      To put it simple. I can accept a muslim, and his belief system (though I disagree). But I can not accept a muslim killing people or in any other way trying to impose it on people outside, his religion. The moment a religion tries to impose it's dogmas on people outside the religion, it becomes an ideology.

    I nearly went on the 12th for early showing but I would have had to travel apx 50m to get there so...I'll wait until the 20th when it is local. I can't help myself from seeing the spoilers, though. I'm sooo excited. Mind, I _will_ be seeing it several times while it's here.

    I don't see how "women have come so far?" -Elizabeth mcGovern (Cora)
    Myself and thousands of women in North America are struggling.
    I am actually offended by the women of earlier generations than mine, who have chosen to decide what's "right" for the future generations of women (i.e women of Today).
    They imposed a life of work and stress upon us that We didn't get to choose for ourselves. If that's not enough, My right to rely on a husband has become a privilege, and I don't see why I should thank the grumpy feminist movement for that.
    Thank you for making our lives HARDER.
