I remember relating to this story so much. I had a hard ass crush on this guy and we were close friends too. But at the time I thought i was not to his level, like the ugly duckling while he was so handsome but i started to work so hard on myself. By the time i was ready it was too late, he started to date a girl he liked. I was so heartbroken and told myself that i should give it up, but i couldn't. Over the next 6 years, i loved and cared for him still as a close friend while still working on myself both physically and mentally. Then one day i finally mustered up the courage (he was also finally single after going through 2 relationships) and told him how i truely felt, thinking i knew i would be flat out rejected since he only ever dated east asian girls or maybe i wasn't his type. But to my surprise, he hugged me and kissed me on the forehead, saying i should have confessed sooner. I remember i was just like this, I was so nervous that i started tearing up because i didn't want to lose him as a friend but also needed to tell him or i couldn't move on. We are now together for 3.5 years :)
I was confessing my love for my 3 years high school crush, after graduation day because i know thats the last time i will be seing him thoroughly. I said to him that i didnt want anything in return, i just want him to know my feeling. He said "thankyou" and that's it, that's the end. I think the most heartbreaking part of this scene is Nam slowly realising that P’Shone and P’Pin are probably a match made for heaven. If it was just some other bimbo, maybe Nam could conspire something to steal him. But he’s dating literally the nicest person to Nam the entire movie, who treated her with respect even before her makeover. The most poignant part is the scene after this, where, P’Pin stumbles across Nam who’s soaking wet and in true P’Pin fashion, she instantly gets worried and asks Nam what’s wrong. Nam’s pained cry and hug really sealed the deal there 😢
