Dont forget to check the Kimberley region in Western Australia!! It is the opposite of Perth even its in the same state! This is where i live and i feels lucky 🍀
It was funny when you said shots fired at Central Park. The park you were looking at was Kings park, which is the biggest inner city park in the world and is even bigger than Central Park.
Perth represent 🥳 born in Sydney and raised all over Aus, and I’m still in Perth, now bringing up my little girl 🥰 Perth is beautiful and the weather is 🔥 I live in Scarborough (beach suburb) and can confirm the beaches are among the top
It’s always nice to see Perth through the eyes of another. I often take for granted how beautiful our city and the state of Western Australia is. Sandgroper born and bred. Really is a big country town. We were also fortunate(although some say unfortunate) that for the first 2 years of Covid we lived life as normal apart from travel restrictions. Lol always a bed at mine if you guys want to come visit
Yeah, we were the butt of some not very tasteful jokes around that time, but we were quite comfortable living a fairly normal life with very few lockdowns and mask events. Unlike Victoria that had all the protests. Had they just locked down properly in the first place, they would have had a shorter lockdown and much more freedom in the long run. But I did have a laugh when Clive Palmer tried to get into WA and the Premier said no way. Palmer took i to the high court and lost, he can stay out as far as I'm concerned.
I do not understand the people who say we were “unfortunate” during COVID. Which part of having almost NO lockdown, NO COVID cases, living a completely normal existence without masks, going to concerts, restaurants, bars, (not to mention being able to go running AND buy a kebab 😂) was bad? WA were absolutely blessed with a responsible, proactive Gov who saved countless lives (and people’s mental health) through their actions. You couldn’t travel interstate during COVID? Oh, my heart breaks for you, what terrible suffering you endured 🙄
@@hannahfreya2326 I totally agree with you. I took advantage and travelled WA. Hadnt seen a lot of my own state. Covid changed that. McGowan and his team were awesome
On the other hand, West Aussies tend to dismiss the east without visiting. They fly to Bali or Singapore more than to Sydney or Melbourne. Altho they've grown up a little, Sandgropers still have a huge chip on their shoulder about the east.
As a Hawaiian born American that moved to Perth as a 2 year old I never knew anything else as home. Until I started travelling,, an wow after seeing a lot of the rest of the world , God I love my home town of Perth, thank my parents so much for there four sight an immigrating to Australia in 1970.
Chubby Tree is called a Boab Tree. They are smart trees , they store water in their ' chubby part' , to survive the hot dry weather they live through in their natural environment ( in the northern parts of Western Australia). The chubby Tree in the video was driven down and planted in that park , as part of a native tree garden. Perth is my home :)
My Dad retired from the Air Force to here, Perth. I remember getting off a plane from Canberra (previous posting) into a depth of beige landscape. Various and many shades of brown - caramel, wheat, vanilla, beige, mushroom,, camel. A Friend came to get us from Perth Airport, to take us to their country town (Mum, sister, me, and 4mth old sister, Dad and brother driving across the Nullarbor), a huntsman came out of uncle Eric’s car sun visor, while driving at 100 kmph & I lost my shit. Told off for opening the car door before car had stopped. Beige and a sage green. Deep green and unexpected colours. I am a bona fide sandgroper (25 yrs to be called one, 40 yrs now). It is a long way to anywhere else, we like it that way, and is a GORGEOUS place to live.
Obviously Ryan, there are quite a few people on here from Perth, just like me. At the moment I’m having a holiday in a little country town 2 1/2 hours from Perth. Today I went for a swim in the Collie river, just 5km from where I’m staying and it’s absolutely amazing and didn’t cost a thing for the swim. We are so blessed to live here.
Hasnt the surrounds of Collie opened up. Potters Gorge, Wellington Dam muriel and now the new Lake Kepwari campsite. A group of us are booked in for the June long weekend. This lake is an old mine that when finished let the water fill in to create this amazing lake. Dumped some white soft beach sand around and walah, beautiful campground.
I'm a Collie local!! Have been here for 12 years now, grew up in nearby town (down the hill) on a farm and love Collie so much, originally moved here for the cheaper rent as a Disability Pensioner and never want to leave. For a small town, we have quite a lot!! We're not far from largest regional area of Bunbury and still a comfortable distance to Perth. I just miss being closer to the coast and really miss the cool sea breezes that I grew up with. It has grown so much as a town in the 12 years I've been here and turning into an amazing tourist town. Our dams, lakes (the most unique blue water loved by TikTok and Instagramers) and National Forrests area amazing!! Not to forget our new Hiking and Mountain Biking tracks, Biggest Dam mural in I think Southern Hemisphere (don't quote me on that but something like that) and our Amazing Wildflower (seasonal) and Mural Trails. Plus the most amazing campgrounds! Not bad for a mining town!!
@@carolw1624 the whole south west is beautiful. The walks around Collie are marvellous, last year i walked from the main drag to Minningup pool and back in the middle of winter, it was cold and it bucketed down the whole time, by the time we got to the Pool we were drenched. I’ve pretty much done all the walks around Collie, I just love it. A few years ago we went to Wellington dam when it was overflowing it was fantastic. My second best place in WA is Turquoise Bay near Exmouth, it such a delight to go out to mid calf length and see the snapper and fish swimming around your legs, its just amazing.

Perth is the cleanest city in Australia by a long way. Its something I have noticed but my partner is a flight attendant of several years and she agrees after spending considerable time in every city in the country. It is just a fact. Australia has the largest amount of gold mine reserves on earth and the vast majority of it is in Western Australia, along with a plethora of other minerals. WA also has lots of natural gas too. It is a very lucky place to be.
Yaaaay!! Thank you so much for looking at WA! We are the most isolated capital city in the world, and also the sunniest capital city in the world. It’s closer to travel to Indonesia or Singapore from Perth than it is to any other city in Aus. We get very ignored by the rest of the country because we’re so far away. But there’s beauty in that isolation. We have 50% of Aus’s native flora and fauna, and our state has everything from tropics, desert, mountain, Mediterranean, very dramatic southern coastline (with sand so white it’s like snow and squeaks under your feet). I’m Freo (Fremantle - Perth’s port city) born. I’ve lived all over the world - Kenya, Switzerland, France - and travelled extensively (every continent except Antarctica), also lived in Sydney - and there is something special about WA. Watching the sun set over the Indian Ocean at one of our amazing beaches (which often times you have all to yourself!) - enjoying a glass of wine or beer - watching the dolphins, black swans, galahs, cockatoos, rainbow lorikeets etc… there’s nothing like it 🥰
Born in Adelaide, raised in Perth, and for some reason, everytime I have tried to move away from Perth, I always come back. When I saw my city from a Tiger Moth cockpit, the way it looks from the air 😍 I completely fell in love with a city I thought I just tolerated 🙄 it's so beautiful. Home for 37 years 🤘🦘🤘 Oh yeah, there's no audio but it still works just with visuals
I too was born in Adelaide and moved to Perth at aged 27. I missed my family and S.A. a lot but although I've been back a few times, it's W.A. that I love more, after 50 years of living here.

Born overseas, grew up in Sydney & moved to Perth over 30 years ago. I came with a mass influx from the Eastern States in the early 1990's. The Eastern States has a lot to offer, but Perth has the right balance of so many things that makes living here, the best, as far as I'm concerned. It's a city but doesn't have the crazy fast pace of stress normally associated with city life. It's kind of where country meets city from my perspective. You still have all the modern conveniences but can easily access farm produce. People are friendly which you don't expect in a city environment. If you love the outdoors lifestyle, especially for raising kids, then this State is optimal. It really is the best kept secret.
Perth is also only a few hours away from the famous Margaret River wine region - which is Australia's most Bordeau-like climate and soil structure. If you don't want to travel that far then about 20 - 30 minutes will take you to the Swan Valley which is also an excellent (but not Bordeau-like) region of lovely wine.
We just need more trees. It’s a hot place and shade makes it bare able. Love living here ( have lived London, Sydney, Vancouver and Melbourne) perth is just chilled and an easier place to live.
I am 3 and a half hours south of Perth. Paradise down here. The chubby Tree was a Boab from the North West of the state. There have been a number of Gold Rush's in Australian history.
Where you see all those grape vines is in the Swan Valley (less than 5 minutes drive from where I live) and it is home to quite a few world class vineyards and wineries as well as breweries and local producers of everything from honey to cheeses
I’m Born and bred In Perth. We have the best beaches and laid back lifestyle. It’s the sunniest city in Australia. It’s incredibly clean city and it’s a wonderful place to raise a family. Only thing thats missing for us is snow. So we travel twice a year to the snow. Happy days 😊
As a proud Perthling I’m pleased to see you enjoyed seeing my home city. I’ve lived all over the world and Aust. Perth is as good as any city gets imho. It really is a beautiful city It’s also kind of special as there is a lot going on but it’s rarely crowded and you have spend time opening doors and peering behind things and boom it’s all going on. Not as showy as east coast cities. Perth just does it’s thing. You would enjoy it.
Perth is a laid back city of 2.3 million. The metropolitan area stretched 120 kms north to south along the coast. Inland the suburbs stretch about 40 kms making Perth the second longest city in the world

I really wished I had finished growing up there and I want to go back someday.
Kings Park is the largest city park in the world. I find it absolutely amazing that it was slated to be a park from almost day 1 and not rich housing with fantastic views! Edit: Kings Park isn't the largest, as someone commented, I was rather incorrect, it is the largest INNER CITY park I was born and bred about an hour south of Perth but I now live in a suburb of Perth. I'm surprised they didn't include any quokkas or penguin island The weather here is AMAZING! You can get a bit of sun year round, even though we do get the same amount of rain as London, it falls on much much fewer days! As someone who lives in Perth (well, Rockingham actually, which is about 37 mins south of Perth), I consider myself very lucky. It's a beautiful city. Wouldn't want to live anywhere else. King's Park is huge and overlooks the city on a hill top. The ANZAC war memorial featured in the video is here, as is the huge Botanic Gardens. If you head West from the mainland, you have Rottnest Island which was featured. Stunning place to visit. If you head East, you have the Darling Scarp/Range of hills of natural bushland and forest. We have many National Parks around Perth and in the South-West of West Australia. Head south past Rockingham/Mandurah/Bunbury towards Busselton and Dunsborough you have fabulous wine country. The landscape is full of natural forests, magnificent coastlines (Cape Naturaliste), underground caves to explore (Ngilgi/Mammoth/Jewel/Lake/Calgardup). Head North of Perth you'll come to the Pinnacles, ancient limestone formations that are millions of years old. Check it out... and you definitely have to come here one day.

When you were talking about "there was a gold rush in Australia as well", Kalgoorlie Western Australia is one of the biggest regions for mining gold on a large scale, we are talking about a massive gold field in terms of size and scale of the operation
I believe the Kalgoorlie super pit is either the biggest or one of the biggest open cut mines in the world. It's approximately 3.5km long, 1.5km wide and 600m deep, when they are finished with that and it inevitably fills with water which it may well do after its no longer being mined, that thing will be basically deep enough to crush some submarines under the water pressure.
@@MrGeneralScar and now even the Super Pit has been surpassed by the Newmont Boddington Gold Mine, also in WA. Our state is incredibly rich in mineral resources
@@Steve_P_B Yeah I wouldnt be surprised, I have not really kept up with that since my Dad retired from mining, if its mined in WA he probably mined it at some point. Perth and WA in general is the best kept secret. The east are more than happy to bag us from time to time and complain that we're so far away but we prefer it all to ourselves!!
Yeah, Perth's close to where they found the radioactive capsule - only about 1300 km (800 miles or so). Not much of a distance for Western Australia. The thing you wanted to know more about is a carillion - bell-tower down on the Perth Esplanade near the Swan River, where the ferries come in. The trees do have bark, but it's often smooth (depending on the variety of tree). Those are gum (eucalypt) trees. Australia's gold rush was from the 1850's but gold wasn't found in WA till the 1880's and they had to invent different methods of separating out the nuggets because there was no water to 'pan' with. Between Kalgoorlie and Boulder is the "Golden Mile" of gold-rich territory. I grew up in Perth. Beautiful place.
Not in Perth now, but was there in the early 70’s, working in the city. Apart from the wind along St George’s Terrace, it was all kinds of wonderful. Thanks for the nostalgia, Ry.
I love the area Perth to Margaret River, and something common to almost everyone I met there during my several visits is that they speak. Most also have ears. Obviously, you are unaware of these traits. 🤔🤭🙄
Perth has the longest metro area in the world. It stretches along the coastal plain for about 150 kilometres from a suburb called Two Rocks in the north to Mandurah in the south.
Actually it's one of the smallest cities, the quietest and the least amount of people. But has 2 rivers running through the city, the beach is 15min drive away. You can drive 30mins in 3 directions and get rural suburbia spots. The actual suburban area is like 50mins to the city in each way. Its really easy to get around. And most of all the lowest prices to buy a house in Australia.
Where you are saying "I want to know more about that thing", that's the Perth Bell Tower where we have the St Martin in the Field's bells and shaped to represent a sailboat. Located near the Barrack st jetty in Elizabeth Quay on the Swan River
@@Steve_P_B The jetty is out on the Swan river. You might as well say The Bell Tower is also on The Esplanade. The Bell Tower is on Union Jack Square. The paths and flower bed resembled the Union Jack.

Dont forget to check the Kimberley region in Western Australia!! It is the opposite of Perth even its in the same state! This is where i live and i feels lucky 🍀
God's country.
It was funny when you said shots fired at Central Park. The park you were looking at was Kings park, which is the biggest inner city park in the world and is even bigger than Central Park.
Perth is our home ..
our state …it’s absolutely beautiful .. perfect for families ✨
Perth is a great city, very underrated by Easterners who have never been there. One of my favourite places to visit.
On the other hand, West Aussies tend to dismiss the east without visiting. They fly to Bali or Singapore more than to Sydney or Melbourne. Altho they've grown up a little, Sandgropers still have a huge chip on their shoulder about the east.
‘Tothersiders. Banana benders are okay.
As a Hawaiian born American that moved to Perth as a 2 year old I never knew anything else as home. Until I started travelling,, an wow after seeing a lot of the rest of the world , God I love my home town of Perth, thank my parents so much for there four sight an immigrating to Australia in 1970.
Perth and WA are frickin awesome. Been here 40 years and it’s absolutely stunning!
Not just Australia there are boab tree species that are also native to mainland Africa and Madagascar.
funny thing is i remmember a conversation i had about that exact tree in the video and this conversation of the comment and comment reply lol.

Also known as Bottle tree....two reasons...can be bottle shaped and hold liquid.
@@flamingfrancis Yeah that's right.
Perth is as beautiful as it looks in the video. :-) And Western Australia has some incredible sights to see.
Come visit Donnybrook while you're down this way
Hasnt the surrounds of Collie opened up.
Personally I like Honeymoon Pool but it seems too cold for most people, but then there is Minningup pool where it is actually quite warm, thats where I went today.
@@AmandaMitting I’m not a local but I was born in Collie. I love this place, I’d buy in here if it wasn’t for the 2 1/2 hour drive to see my family in Perth.
Best city in the world ! So lucky to have grown up here as a Sandgroper (Western Australian)
Perth born and bred here! Been here all of my 47 years and I just love it. No matter where you go there is always a friendly face to be found. Hope you are able to come out West sometime soon ❤️
Ads teenager in Perth it’s the best city in the world the climate is immaculate and the culture too.
I moved to Perth from Sydney 23 years ago. Never looked back. Awesome city.
My Auntie visited Perth in Western Australia and said it was the.most Beautiful Place she had seen💕🙏
I live in Perth and it really is a beautiful place to live
Watching the sun set over the Indian Ocean at one of our amazing beaches (which often times you have all to yourself!) - enjoying a glass of wine or beer - watching the dolphins, black swans, galahs, cockatoos, rainbow lorikeets etc… there’s nothing like it 🥰
Where are the black swan's now, ?
Born in Adelaide, raised in Perth, and for some reason, everytime I have tried to move away from Perth, I always come back. When I saw my city from a Tiger Moth cockpit, the way it looks from the air 😍 I completely fell in love with a city I thought I just tolerated 🙄 it's so beautiful. Home for 37 years 🤘🦘🤘
Oh yeah, there's no audio but it still works just with visuals
I too was born in Adelaide and moved to Perth at aged 27. I missed my family and S.A. a lot but although I've been back a few times, it's W.A. that I love more, after 50 years of living here.
Ahh thank goodness. I thought it was just me that couldn't hear it. :P

Our beautiful Perth love ,love,Perth
We have recently moved to Perth from the Eastern states of Aus and it is absolutely stunning, such a beautiful place to live with the best beaches ❤🏖️
If you don't want to travel that far then about 20 - 30 minutes will take you to the Swan Valley which is also an excellent (but not Bordeau-like) region of lovely wine.
perfect places to bring your eco-friendly refillable goon pillow bags.
We just need more trees. It’s a hot place and shade makes it bare able. Love living here ( have lived London, Sydney, Vancouver and Melbourne) perth is just chilled and an easier place to live.
Yep its barren ASF, and not a good look, compared to leafy Brisbane/ Adelaide, and it's pretty fkn boring!.. 🤦🙄😂
Been to Perth a few times. The people are just as friendly as the the scenery is beautiful.
LOL. Thu don't talk to each other. No one in my street wants to talk to neighbours. Ridiculous

Inland the suburbs stretch about 40 kms making Perth the second longest city in the world
I think Perth is now 150km long and number one.
That is correct.
It isa shame the urban sprawl is getting bad. We'll destroy what makes Perth beautiful if we keep doing that.
You are so appreciative of our country. You don’t judge. You are funny. You have taught me so much about my country that I was not aware of.
Bravo to you.

Hi Ryan you really to take.a look at Tasmania, here is a beautiful city, unbelievable scenery and we also have the CLEANEST air in the world.
I lived in Perth as a child from ages 6 - 13 but my dad was in the airforce and he got posted to Queensland so I grew up there. I love Queensland, but in 2018 I spent a week in Perth with my mother as we were going on a cruise out of Fremantle, and as soon as we landed in Perth I felt like I was coming home. I really wished I had finished growing up there and I want to go back someday.
Perth has a strong sense of confidence and self assuredness. I'm from the east and Perth rocks.
No. The inferiority is so felt
Kings Park is the largest city park in the world. I find it absolutely amazing that it was slated to be a park from almost day 1 and not rich housing with fantastic views!
Edit: Kings Park isn't the largest, as someone commented, I was rather incorrect, it is the largest INNER CITY park
I was born and bred about an hour south of Perth but I now live in a suburb of Perth. I'm surprised they didn't include any quokkas or penguin island
The weather here is AMAZING! You can get a bit of sun year round, even though we do get the same amount of rain as London, it falls on much much fewer days! Greetings from Perth.
Just the ones I know about was he mined lead, opals (i think this one was in NT), diamonds, iron ore, gold, nickel, bauxite (alumina), coal, and probably lithium as well. I am not sure if he was part of the uranium mine up north or not but he worked on many other sites up north so probably. Perth and WA in general is the best kept secret. The east are more than happy to bag us from time to time and complain that we're so far away but we prefer it all to ourselves!!
Damn right. Qld death nights. Very quiet
I am a true blue West Aussie and proud of it ❤❤❤
Perth is just the City, WA is several different universes in one State!
Not in Perth now, but was there in the early 70’s, working in the city. Apart from the wind along St George’s Terrace, it was all kinds of wonderful.
